What's Your Problem?
Trying new techniques or baits that I have no confidence in. Been trying to force myself to only taking a few things to the water to learn. If I take everything I struggle to keep trying those new low confidence lures or techniques.

Do You Fish Alone Or With A Buddy?
Depends on where and how I'm fishing. If I'm taking the yak out to fish I prefer to have someone with me for safety concerns. If on the river I will never take yak out alone. Bank fishing I prefer alone unless it's my son.

I'm A Fish'n Yaker & A Solution Is Needed To Help My Rods Float
Tackle warehouse offers rod butt floats. http://www.***.com/Rod_Care_Maintenance__Storage_/catpage-RCMS.html I think these are priced high for what they are. I just use paracord attached to a carabiner on each end and keep my rods tethered to my yak that way. I usually have 4-5 rods on my yak at all times and the floats are just not cost effective IMO. Bass pro offers a similar product as well. I believe they come in a 3 pack. Something to think about.....your yak tips and you have rods floating away hat you have to try to chase down if you're in any type of current, if you have a fish its gonna drag that rod away with the float. Tether them and there's nothing to chase. just grab the tether and pull it back into the yak.

Looking For A Pfd That Won't Break The Bank
I am currently using a BPS mesh fishing vest and I hate it. I wear it every time but have yet to find a vest that is comfortable to fish on a kayak. Ive decided to just save my money and pick up a mustang self inflate. It's a lot more comfortable to have on and dont interfere with paddling or fishing. With m having a bad heart I want something that if I was to go into the water it's going to right me.

Any Tips On Fishing From A Boat Cant Seem To Have The Best Luck
I have a sonar unit on my kayak and i rarely use it to find actual fish. On the occasion I do it is to see what depth they are holding in the deeper water. 95% of the time I use it to find cover, humps, and the lake contours. This has changed my whole game for the better. I broke my lake into sections and have been learning that lake section by section and that has seemed to keep it from overwhelming me. I also use my sonar when I am on the drop shot. Glenn has an excellent video he recently posted on you tube on this technique.

Which One Is Better?
Project Z. Color depends on water clarity for me.

Rage Toad Setup And Hook
I use Owner 5/O twistloc hooks and they run perfectly straight and didn't hurt the nose at all. Lost the leg appendages before the nose was messed up. The durability of the legs are the only issue i have with the rage toads. Owner twist locks are the best hook I've found with them.

Mosquito Lake (Ohio)
I'm from up around the Dayton area. Haven't run across too many people on here from SW Ohio. Might want to try Ohio Game fishing for advice on waters in our region. Hope you did well. I've never been there so I am no help on your question.

Deadly Nedly Strikes Again
Congrats! Nice fish! The Ned rig is one of my newfound favorites! It's right there with drop shotting with a robo worm! Deadly!

Placing A Tw Order
If you plan on drop shotting I recommend the 6" roboworms. I just started using them and I am sold! Just caught 7 LMB on a lake that I am lucky to get away with 1 or 2. Someone turned me onto them and was the best advice I've taken on baits yet.

Ok People, Out With It!
Fished Here in dayton about half a dozen times with no catch. went today and threw top, drug bottom, and spun the middle. No Luck. Pulled out a blue gill squarebill with a depth of 2-5 ft. was ticking the top of the beds and pulled in a 15" male LMB. Good way to end the day. Water was choppy but very clear. was on shore so couldn't tell you the water temp. Nobody seemed to be getting anything during the few hours i was there.

Eastwood Lake Dayton, Oh.
Started fishing around 11 a.m. water was choppy from a decent breeze across the lake. Started with a prop bait with no success and same for my Megabass. Tried dragging bottom with a t rigged lizard without so much as a bite. Fished the middle layer for a while with a spinner and still nothing. Finally threw on a square bill and started ticking the top of the vegitation and sure enough I got my first bass of the year from down there about 1:30 p.m. nothing to brag about, only bout 15 inches, but a Bass is a Bass is a Bass. was happy to pull out of there atleast with a catch.

Making The Switch Back From Fluoro To Mono..
I use P-Line Flouroclear coated Line and P-Line CX on all my rods and reels except for flippin around heavy cover. I use a 30 lb power pro slick braid with a P-line Leader. I love the CX and have been switching over to that as the Flouroclear doesn't seem as strong as the CX. Feel wise the CX actually feels alot more sensitive and doesn't seem to have as much stretch to it. It's all in your preference. The CXX seems ok on my baitcasters but i dont like it on spinning gear, as it seems to have too much memory to it. The CX works well on both. There are some really good lines in all cat. BBraid, mono, flouro, and Hybrid, as well as some really horrible lines. Just do as i have and alot of other have. Experiment and see what you like the most. What I like and what works well for me or others may not work well for you or your style. I do Highly recomment you try out the P-line CX. I havent been able to find it on shelves anywhere around me so I ordered mine thru Tackle warehouse. I had a few recommend it to me and the reviews were great so I gave it a try and Glad I did because it is now my line of choice. I have tried alot of line and stripped alot of reels with new line because I just hated it and thought it was garbage. and I HATE wasting money like that! I knw youre against braid but I believe if you try the slick braid from power pro you might change your mind about braid. I know I did! Best of luck to you!
