Senko lover

Good stuff! I cracked up at the baits hanging off the window blinds. My mom would KILL me!

I'm getting my sister's boyfriend hooked up with fishing. Looking forward to it. No ulterior motives or anything - he only lives 2 minutes away from three private ponds.

Green Pumpkin is what I have. Pretty much any worm or senko color you have confidence in should work. I haven't tried the Ultravibe but I've heard their craw and worm in that lineup is really good. The flanges that come on Rage baits would IMO give it much more action.

Absolutely KILLER on shallow pond bass!! Use them, they flat out work!

I would love find some ponds with a lot of grass and vegetation, but haven't had too many chances to fish that. I love fishing wood, there's a lot of it around my ponds.

So I've been an active poster on here for the last several months. I've almost reached 1,000 posts. I would like to do something (s) that would really contribute something to the forums. Would do you think would be helpful? Again, what would you consider a contribution or help? I guess I'm thinking of reviews and the like, but help me out: What would you like to see that would help you fish better or learn more?

This particular pack was in Green Pumpkin. I rigged it with the tail down ( at least that's the way it is on my hook right now. I may have fished it the other way before) but I don't think it would make a huge difference either way. My only complaint with the baits are simply that, like any senko, they are not indestructible. I lost the tail on one just casting. I now have a Rage senko! I have caught four fish on one of them, so they do last pretty well but they are getting very torn up. However, that is the price to pay for senkos. Who knows, if they were harder, maybe they wouldn't catch so many fish!

So somebody gave me a pack of Rage Cut'R worms about a month ago. I really haven't gotten into Rage Baits, as much as I would like to, simply because I have to make do with cheaper ones. I had heard so many good things about Rage products in general and the Cut'R worm, especially since it is a senko (of sorts). I took it out to the pond on Thursday. There are plenty of ways to throw it but I just rigged it up with a 1/4 oz. sinker and swum it. 5th cast: bang, nice little chunk got swung aboard. I caught two more on it that day, all fat fish. Yesterday, I took them to my favorite pond. I fished them like I said above. Caught two bass, one of them was a chunky 2 3/4 pounder. Went out again today, caught a bass on my third cast and another one soon after that. My early Spring fishing (pre-Cut'R worm!) did not see any kind of consistency. It was a bass here, a bass there, no numbers whatsoever. This bait has changed that. What it looks like: The Cut'R worm is essentially a senko with a Rage flang-ed tail. If you swim it, it looks like an unconventional swimbait. How to rig it: This part is left up to your imagination. You can wacky rig it, fish it weightless, swim it with a bullet weight or jighead, any way. Any way you'd fish a senko, you can fish this bait. One of the nice things that shows how well designed it is is that it has two hooks slots for correct hook placement every time. Once the worm started getting really worn, I turned it 45 degrees and hooked it between the two slots. The Bite: I have not had a problem with hooking up fish. Even swimming it and swinging at a bite hooks 'em every time. I used 3/0 EWG hook. You have to try this worm. I told myself for the sake of my wallet not to get into Rage Baits. I think I might have to. I can only afford a couple of packs right now, but I know these won't be my last.

I would really recommend an Abu Garcia Vengeance, excellent rods for 50 bucks. For a reel, the Abu Garcia Black Max reel should do you. I haven't personally used it but I know a lot of people say it's the best if you are really looking to go cheap. Probably won't be worse than what you would get with most combos in that price range.

Interesting question. I haven't had a problem with boiling baits. I really love the coffee smell and would probably just leave it on myself. I don't think the fish will mind too much either way.

I went out and fished like I always do even though it was cold. I fished a Rage Cut'R worm with a 1/4 oz. weight, fancasting it around and swimming it back to me. Caught a 2 and a 2 3/4 pounder.
