  1. i have these yum crawbugs, they're hollowed out like tubes I plan on trying these on my shaky heads.
  2. do you reccomend using regular senkos?
  3. Has anyone ever rigged flukes on a shaky head? or anything other than worms for that matter. what works for you, care to share?
  4. if you leave trailers that have salt integrated in them on your jigs your hooks will rust, the same with spinnerbaits and anything else. if the trailers are salt-less your hooks will be fine. just gotta remember to remove trailers after you're done with them if they contain salt.
  5. hahahahahahah thats gold.
  6. I have a medium fast action 6'3 casting rod with 14# copolymer. do you think that'd do the trick well enough for the 1/4 OZ jig with a 3/o hook?
  7. if i got a birds nest like that I'd throw my reel in the lake lol!
  8. If you had to use a 7 foot medium heavy rod and throw a 1/4 OZ jig with a 3/0 hook what size line would you use?
  9. I've never reeled in a rod but i remember fishing and beginning to retrieve my bait and feeling like i snagged something, wasn't a little fish but my lure felt a little heavier than ushual....reeled it in and had a big freshwater clam on my treble hook! that clam is now living happily in my fish tank with the baby smallmouth i caught on a crankbait just as big as it lol.
  10. I dont use the term "dink" but i call fish under a pound "chips"
  11. back during my first season of bass fishing I remember being in the boat with my friend as I see shad jumping and immediately say "hey man imma cast over to those jumps I'm seeing" and he was like "yea I see those jumps but I doubt they're bass jumps" once he finishes that statement my rods bent in half hahahaha 4 pound smallie on a bomber model A. Made him feel dumb
  12. I like my jig heads to be painted brown/black or whatever matches the skirt. Weather it's powder coated or enamel doesn't matter to me, and i doubt it does to the fish. All coatings will scratch and chip so I dont play into that "doesn't chip or scratch" crap. Like tom said above, i dont bother re-painting chipped scratched jigs. If your jig isn't scratched or chipped you must not be showing it much love. With that being said all I try to do with my jigs is tweak skirts, weed gaurds, and sharpen hooks when needed.
  13. I'll x2 these and add in Xcalibur crankbaits and rebel wee R's
  14. 1. TUBES 2. DROP SHOT (WACKY RIGGED) 3. CRANKBAITS 4. JIGS
  15. I've heard of people fanning the weed gaurd as well...
  16. okay thin dont shorten. good tip, thanks.
  17. thats true but i'm looking more in the direction of keeping up with old quality jigs. and preparing new jigs for any harsh treatment they could endure.
  18. thanks for the info man. I don't want to use super glue either if it dries white, I'm also afraid of the offensive odor turning the fish away from my jig.
  19. great job man! those are dope.
  20. RI is great actually haha there's access to both fresh and saltwater and you can catch HUGE lmb and HUGE stripers. the water isn't as clear as maine's water (where i live now). and as far as maine goes it's an all aroung great fishery. all the waters are really clear, if you want cold water species fish northern maine. Warmwater species go southern maine.
  21. I've been hearing a lot about weed gaurds falling out of jigs lately and started thinking of the jigs I own. does anyone have any tips for reinforcing their jig's weed gourds so they stay in? also I was wondering if anyone could lend some advice on trimming weed gaurds. when should you trim them? how should they be trimmed? things like that. I've heard of people applying superglue to the bace of the weed gaurd. I've also heard of people trimming their weed gaurds on an angle so as the weed gaurd gets closer to the hook it gets slightly thinner. anymore ideas anyone?
