  1. Hot dogs or chicken liver for the small ones. Live bluegill for a big one.
  2. How does the sink rate of 832 compare to fluoro?
  3. This is a jig I've had since January. It has seen 10+ trips (miracle?), lots of rocks, heavy cover, and lots of bass. The weedguard is getting pretty jacked up, and the skirt has been replaced.

  5. Frogs have been the mainstay for me for a few weeks now.
  6. Sounds like carp. They spawn after the bass and make a lot of noise.
  7. On tackle warehouse right now 125 yds of fx2 is 16.99. 150 yds of Smack down is 29.99. Not exactly double but pretty close.

    Is that a cottonmouth?
  9. For the price, fx2 is hard to beat. Smackdown is nice, but it's not worth double the price of fx2. I've yet to try suffix 832 or tuffline, but out of PP, Spiderwire, FX2, and Smackdown, I'd go with FX2.
  10. The frog bite over here has been on for a couple weeks.
  11. Probably not going to happen. Even in small ponds, a nice bass can be hard to catch at times. I'd bet the bottom is soft, so I'd start with an swim jig, drop shot, top water, single tail grubs, or anything else that would keep the bait off the bottom. Try fishing pretty fast also.
  12. Pit bosses are a bit cheaper, hold a hook a little better, and for whatever reason, seem to skip better. The appendages don't hold up too well though, and they don't have as many or as cool of colors as RI beavers. For me it's whichever one I'm into at the time. Right now I'm into the pit boss.
  13. There are still plenty of fish to be caught.
  14. That exact braid was the first I ever tried. I tied a Palomar knot also and got the same results. Started tying a double Palomar, and the problem was solved. Report back with your results with the double Palomar. A lot of people think a regular palomar won't slip, but it will on light braid.
  15. I like it! Very cool.
  16. Yeah, it was the regular metallic. My mistake. I'll have to try the ProFX. Not sure why they are deviating from the old colors though.
  17. I bought a spool of metallic about three weeks ago, and it still sprung off the spool.
  18. I had the same issues with the Fuji thread. I've also tried Fish Hawk. I'll never buy those two again after trying ProWrap. Just my opinion. Everyone is different I suppose. It just seems to wrap better for me than the two previously mentioned. Also, it has an awesome color selection. The metallic kinda springs off the spool if you're not careful though, which is the only downside I've found. Since Gudebrod has gone away, I'm pretty sure a lot of manufacturers have gone to ProWrap if that means anything.
  19. I have wrapped a rod with it. Not a fan. Pro wrap is my favorite so far.
  20. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I could have sworn I seen a video a few years back where butch brown said he uses 15# seaguar fluoro for 8" hudds. Either way, it seems a bit light to me. Followers on hudds are just part of the game. How slow are you reeling it? Try crawling it as slow as possible.
  21. You throw an 8" hudd with a 12# leader?
  22. For someone to know the answer to this question, they would have to have fished every rod in that price range....that's a whole lot of rods lol. Whichever one is the lightest weight with the highest modulous blank, would be my bet. If it were me, I'd be looking at 13 omens, Fenwick, okuma TCS, and for a little more coin, phenix m1 or bass recon.
  23. Are revos, pfluegers, etc. All made by Pure Fishing? Edit: sorry I posted before I saw 21 farm's post.
