  1. You'd be correct in your final statement. Saltwater EATS magnesium
  2. Sir, you must no longer be in school... Fishing is over August 1st! JK
  3. A spinning reel would be a good choice also, though a good casting setup can be used for a Texas Rig as well. I would recommend the 7'1" MH with a 7.1:1 reel in that case. 14lb Trilene XT or 14 lb Sunline Sniper would be good for this application. I don't know much about spinning outside of either a 6'6" Medium with a Quantum reel with 8lb XL I use for general "finesse", and saltwater setups. And as for keeping your fish, its ok! I catch and release simply because I fish many places that are catch and release only, and don't like the taste of fish. I don't believe in shaming people who keep fish. Most people believe keeping smaller fish is good for fisheries, but obviously not all regulations allow for keeping fish below 14". Goodluck and welcome to the forums!
  4. Also, I can't speak to them, but in that range are the Enigma Aaron's Edge series. I'd kinda like to know how they are.
  5. I think its more Bellechick's offensive system more so than Brady. When he was drafted, he wasn't much of a player, at least that he'd shown. Matt Cassel didn't look much good either but stepped into Brady shoes and they still did well. Cassel didn't do so well in KC though... So I think its more the offensive strategy/system, than one player.
  6. Colts outlook is good. Jags outlook: We STILL suck.
  7. I have mixed feelings about this new bait. Have to see what I think of it in hand, and on the end of a line.
  8. Texas Rig? Blakc/blue?
  9. How would you fish it? What is the setup you like to use? What trailer do you like? Sorry for all the questions, just struggle understanding how to best utilize a bladed jig.
  10. Good advice. Sadly this is a strictly no Boats, Canoes, Kayaks lake.
  11. Ok, so I spend a lot of time fishing a small structured reservoirs, about 9 acres in surface area. I've been fishing this lake pretty much my whole life. This weekend conditions have thrown me for a curveball. A few days ago (Tuesday) a HUGE stormfront rolled through. It caused a dramatic rise in the water, which didn't stay long due to the dam, but threw a bunch of vegetation out of the water. Their is still some coontail in the water, which is fairly fishable and then in other areas there is surface algae, which can only be covered by a frog, but for the most part, its more sparse then normal. Today due to the stormfront, the water was extremely dirty, and the conditions were typical postfront, blue bird skies, flat calm. Pretty warm, enough to make it uncomfortable. There is a rip rap bank near the dam. Near the inflow point there is a flat, with vacated panfish beds. I can reach parts of the main creek channel with casting gear, but not all of it. I would think it's no deeper than 10ft, but couldn't tell you for sure. The main forage is shad, although I've seen some crawfish, I struggle getting bites with bottom contact baits. Today I fished a 5/16 oz War Eagle Mike McClelland Finesse Spinnerbait (White/Chartreuse), a rattling 2.5 Squarebill, and a Shad Colored Frog. No luck. How would you guys attack this? Any help is appreciated! Feel free to ask for more information if I left something out, I'm working on finding a map. Thanks in advance!
  12. Are you fishing from a boat? Or from the bank?
  13. This. Except in a shad pattern.
  14. With a squarebill, you just might.
  15. I like craw tubes. Probably not the most streamline profile, but I like em
  16. Nice fish!
  17. I believe JT Kenney also caught an 11 on Toho during tournament practice in February, if that points anything out.
  18. Looks like natural selection took care of things there.
  19. We all love fishing. But I imagine that some (SOME!) of us have other hobbies and activities we enjoy. What summertime activities do you enjoy outside of fishing? Personally I love camping and grilling. Being around family and friends. I am also trying to get into photography! What about you?
  20. I like my BPS Extreme 6'6" MH I use for squarebills pretty good. Can't really speak to other rods as this is the only one I've fished Squarebills with. Good luck finding your rod.
  21. I really like the way the LFS fit into my hand. I love my first Gen Lew's but also enjoy the LFS fit a little better. As for magnesium, I don't think it will hurt the quality or smoothness overall of the reel. My only gripe is that it will hurt my wallet Magnesium ain't cheap.
  22. Saw you fished the Walmart FLW tour tho year as a rookie? How was your first year on tour?
  23. That would be live bait..... I think a better way to go is make biodegradable plastic baits. Never heard of anyone making those, anybody know of any?
  24. Don't believe Havoc baits are scented.
  25. Sounds about right
