  1. Looks similar to a Biffle Bug. I've never fished Gene Larew or Gambler, but they may have to change.
  2. Havoc Bottom Hopper?
  3. Just depends on the lake. If a lake has an abundance of forage, cover, and structure, and the quality of water is good, then it can support a healthy population of good sized (3+) bass. I've seen it before.
  4. Have you explored the fact that maybe it's just a little stunted lake without good numbers?
  5. Daiwa Lexas are being clearanced for around 70 bones in Big Box Stores. As for line, try 12 or 14 lb Trilene XT.
  6. Calcutta pliers have really good line cutters. Sear right through braid without any fraying.
  7. Hasn't been a great year, but there have been some decent fish. Still waiting for the big one.
  8. Is there a time you prefer painted over metallic or vice versa?
  9. Just spend some time learning things about the lakes you fish. Where are you catching bass? What on? Can you tell what the main forage is? If the main forage is crawfish, then fish will be less inclined to eat a burning lipless crank, but if the main forage is shad, that may be all they want.
  10. Whatever you prefer. I like green for both monofilament and braid. Make sure you've got a good pair of scissors, and take the time to lean/tie good knots.
  11. Gonna buy a kayak by next season so interested to hear responses... Sorry I can't be of any assistance.
  12. Same here.. Just food for thought.
  13. There are hundreds of local tackle shops that do decent business, and often look to sponsor High School or College area clubs. But, you have to work your butt off and prove your worth the extra expense/hassle. Like stated above, what do YOU bring to the table, and it has to differentiate you from the hundreds of thousands of tourney anglers out there.
  14. Brett Hite fishes most all of his Chatterbaits with black blades, as far as I know.

Welcome sir and thank you for your service! We are all indebted to our many public servants. What do you plan on using your St. Croix/Curado combo for?
  16. I really like Takahiro. As for being odd, I think part of it is the language barrier, which he stumbles a bit but breaks quite well for the most part, but mostly a cultural barrier. Japanese culture is quite different than it is here. They're very stringent on quality and politeness. In Japanese culture, its considered rude to say NO directly to someone, so they kinda dance around it. Not like here, where we are bluntly jerks to one another(No disrespect love America, but we are a little disrespectful at times). But those differences probably make things a little odd.
  17. I believe Matt Allen fishes Shimano, at least for his round swimbait stuff.
  18. Yeah next July I'm going to Sanibel island and since the gulf waters are so calm I won't be able to catch any waves so I'll be surf fishing for Snook. Should be fun.
  19. Hello and welcome! My goodness, Caddo has to be the most beautiful lake I've ever seen! So many shallow water targets! I will make a trip down there in my lifetime and I won't be able to control myself. Paradise!
  20. Hello friend. The south will rise again!
  21. Looks like I'll be mowing the lawn tommorow if its dried out then lol
  22. Use a leader at all times with spinning in freshwater strictly due to visibility reasons. As for the price of Smackdown, a $30 spool will last you 4 years I you use leader and tie good leader knots. That knot will not work for braid, its called a clinch. A great knot for monofilaments, I use it myself, but braids slickness will cause the knot to slip. Tie a double uni from braid to leader, and then clinch from leader to lure.
