How Do You Fish A Jig?
I know there is a thread about Jig Fishing at the top of this catogory but I want this to be specific to my area and the questions im asking. My question is how do you fish a jig? I fish around so much wood so finding cover for me is not an issue. I plan on starting with a black and blue 1/4 oz jig. My depths range from 1ft up by the trees to 15 ft out in the middle. All the fish I have ever caught have been right next to the trees. Also, I am used to fidhing plastic worms on the bottom with a 1/4 oz bullet weight. How does the jig differ in fishing plastic worms on the bottom as far as how you fish it? Thanks so much.

Baits In March
Well, the winter is almost over and temps will start increasing through the next month. My question is, what bait should I throw in this pre- spawn time. I love fishing up shallow but can't use open hooks because of the insane amount of snags I'm fishing around. My water temp will be in the 55-60 degree range depending on the day. Water clarity is stained with only about a foot of visibility. What baits would be best for me fidhing throughout the month of March? Thanks

Flukes/floating Worms Do Best With Flurocarbon Right?
I would think that Flukes and Floating worms would do best with monofilament or Flurocarbon because I think that stretch is valuable particularly if you are using a MH Rod. I think that the stretch in the line will let them take it in vs feeling the bite with braid and jerking too quickly. Is this the kind of thinking you would make?

Abu Garcia Veritos
It's the spining by the way

Seaguar Abrax Flurocarbon
Thank you!

Abu Garcia Veritos
I am thinking of getting the MH devoted just for flukes and weightless floating worms. How does this sound? Has anyone used this Rod before?
-
Seaguar Abrax Flurocarbon
Has anyone used this line? I am planning on using the 6-8 lb test on my spinning reel for flukes, and 12-15 lb test on my casting for 6 inch curly tail zoom worms.

Flipping Rod
Shimano Crucial is awesome. Get it in the mh.

Very Happy With Flurocarbon
I used straight flurocarbon 20lb for punching grass today and I loved it much more than braid. I like the fact it was smoother and easier to get through the cover than with braid. I was also shocked with the amount of sensitivity I got. It was great.

Abu Garcia Black Max
I have this reel and don't like it. I backlash way too much. Anyone else have this problem?

Changing Monofilament On Ultralight
On average, I fish 2 times a week with my ultralight 6lb mono. I change it 3 times a month. Is this to often? I don't catch a lot of big ones but I fish around lots of grass.

Jig Head Shape Ned Rig
Since the only weed guard jig heads I can find are round is this ok or do I need the mushroom style?

Ned Rig
I am super impressed with this rig right here. I went to a pond where in the past I've caught very few bass. I threw my ned rig out there a and almost back to back to back to back casts I caught a fish. I even caught a 3lb bass on it. Great little rig and fun fishing it on the ultralight. For the river I usually fish, I need something weedless. Anyone have any ideas on how to make this rig weedless? Thanks!

Love The Summer Bite
I just love bass fishing in the summer. A lot of people think summer as being hot, fishing deep, and fish that are lathargic from the heat. But that's not my approach to summer. I love summer so much because of the mornings. I don't fish long, 2 hours or so in the morning, but I catch a ton of bass very active up shallow ready to inhale topwater PopR. It is truly a blast and if you get away from fishing the mid day and the evenings in the summer, you can catch loads of bass on Topwater right at daylight.

Unweighted Plastics What Hooks?
Hahaha you are soooo funny I forgot to laugh....

Monofilament Fishing Line
The reality is Monofilament gets over-looked. Everyone is obsessed with braid and fluro, and mono doesn't get the use it needs to. I think one thing that draws people away from this line is the stretch creates less sensitivity. However, you can easily over come this with using a very sensitive Rod. The stretch is a good thing becUse that's was keeps fish buttoned on the hook. If no stretch, more often than not that hook is going to tear a hole in the mouth and you will loose the fish. I also like the way mono casts compared to other lines. In addition, it's so much more inexpensive and you can change out the line you use without having much expense. In conclusion, you should pick up mono and give it a shot. It's a great line with numerous advantages.

Unweighted Plastics What Hooks?
As I have said on here before, I love unweighted plastics. My question is, what hook should I use for Texas Rigging the Plastics? I want to know what style (EWG, Straight Shank etc). I have had good and bad luck with EWG. What style hook gives you the best hook up ratio and why do you think that is?

Topwater Popper, Spooks Require This Line
I love throwing treble hook topwaters, like popers and Spooks on monofilament. I know a lot of guys use braid, but braid has no stretch which will rip those hooks out easier. I like 15lb monofilament for my topwaters. It's thin enough to get good distance, but thick enough to get fish out of cover. I still think monofilament is great in a lot of situations. People have forgotten about it with the advent of braid and flurocarbon, but it's still my preferred choice for a lot of techniques.

Weightless Fluke
I am planning on rigging up a weightless Zoom Super Fluke Jr. What Rod, Reel, and Line is best? I skip it around a lot of wood up shallow.

Shakey Head
If I'm looking to get a lot of bites but not necessarily big fish, would a shakey head be a good choice? I am planning on putting the Z Man TRD on them. Any Advice would be appreciated.

Weedless Mushroom Shaped Jighead
Does anyone know a direct link to about a 1/16 oz mushroom style jighead that is weedless? I am having trouble finding one. Thanks

Would Ned Rig Work In My Area?
I found a weedless 1/16oz round shaped jighead. I also have the Z Man TRD which is traditionally used on the Ned Rig. I am thinking of throwing it on my Ultralight with 6lb mono. I would fish it in 3ft clarity of water around a ton of wood. Does this sound like a good setup or not?
