  1. The Marshall Tucker Band, Can't You See I swear I didn't know that .45 was loaded In fact my memory ain't too clear That's not to say she didn't get what she deserved Least that's the way it looks from here
  2. Heh. Thanks, but it's been tried many times. Besides, I wouldn't actually call it "suffering." It's just one of those things. Some people can naturally shoot a great jump shot; some people are intriniscally good at high-level mathematics. Myself, I have the innate ability to cause fish to get lockjaw, deer to pull the Vanishing Trick, pheasants to learn to dig burrows, ducks to suddenly prefer desert climes ... well, you get the idea. ;D After a while, you learn to live with it and even see the humor in it. Still, you don't want me anywhere near your mojo amulet.
  3. Whatever you do, keep the thing far away from me, or it'll be ruined forever. I'm sure a lot of you have read Pat McManus's stories about his legendary powers to repel fish & game - guides run away in fear, tournament directors & anglers pay him to go to another state, etc. Well, I often wonder if ol' Pat and I aren't somehow related. ;D So keep it away from me, if you value it. To be safe, don't even have it on the same lake I'm on, or you run the definite risk of it transforming from the Mojo Icon to the Magical Skunk Token.
  4. Sex. Motorcycles. Why aren't these fish cooperating? Boats. Should I switch lures? Sex. I could sure go for a club sandwich. Am I getting sunburned? Sex. ;D
  5. If you're going to do much night fishing, I urge you to get a GPS (if you don't already have one). On those nights when the pea-soup fog rolls in, and it's darker than the inside of a cat, it can really bail you out.
  6. Everyone has probably already seen this, but here are some genius jetskiers. How to launch a personal watercraft
  7. Sometimes you can salvage a dunked cell phone by packing it in a ziploc bag full of dry, uncooked rice to dry out. (The rice absorbs the water slowly and without heat.) I figure it's usually worth a try ... if it doesn't work, you're only back where you started, and out maybe thirty cents worth of rice. My brother ran his Motorola through the washing machine, and brought it back to life this way.
  8. The bait monkey got me good today. I went into BPS here in Springfield to renew my $12 fishing license, and came out with over three hundred bucks worth of gear. But, most of that was in a sweeeeet new St. Croix Avid casting rod, that I think will be perfect for c-rigging. (7' MHF) Paired it with a Quantum KVD signature reel, which seemed to me to be a heckuva nice reel for 89 bucks.
