I hate that happened to you man. Since moving up here a year ago, one thing I’ve learned is the fishing community is very very tight. So I try to get in where I fit in so to speak. I’ve tried my best to even be this guys friend and it just doesn’t happen. I basically got called dumb by him the other day as well cause I believe in fishing pressure. Hoping for better days next year, they just won’t be around him.

I’m glad you’re doing well. man I hate to hear about the parents. Even though not unexpected my thoughts are still with you. I just thought about this thread tonight. Was tough last year to do it cause me and the wife moved to East tn I last fall from south Louisiana. Such a drastic change in life for someone born and raised in the swamps.

I appreciate it man. Still getting exhausted at work but not nearly as stuffy as I was. Also this year USA bassin has started on my local lake and I’m trying to find a partner for it. I’ve been working closely with the directors trying to promote it. Both of them have partners and had them for years so I understand they’re locked in with their partners. Working on trying to find mine for now. Next year there is a possibility of a cheaper boat in the future. My wife has seen how bad that whole scenario was just absolutely dragging me down. I just don’t understand how people can be like that. I’ve never heard this saying but my goodness I’m about to start using it 😂

Well Sunday was my birthday and made one more effort after talking to him about his bad attitude. After I caught two behind him while he had none. He started it again. The second one was on a jr vision 110 plus one on a medium light phenix m1 casting rod. I asked for the net. His exact words, ”why? It’s only a 2 pounder. If that rod can’t flip boat flip that fish in you shouldn’t be using it” I tried to explain light line medium light rod and jerkbait with light wire trebles and why I would like a net. His response ” well that’s just stupid. I bet that’s a cheap made jerkbait”. I proceeded to boat flip fish. I was exhausted after fighting with Covid all thanksgiving week so I was trying to have some enjoyment on my birthday and finally being able to get back in public, annndddd that’s what I got. Im done. I lost one more behind that one also on a Spinnerbait and he about had a meltdown. Pulled the plug at about 11:30 and said I was exhausted and ready to go home.

Ned rig was my number one producer for numbers last winter in east tn.

Watauga seems more of a place to need a boat. Im gonna try to find someone to fish it with eventually. Most of the time when I bank fish I go to the bass pro pond in Bristol 😂 man imma be honest it hasn’t been that bad this go around. Just stuffy really. If I had a boat I probably would’ve fished the whole week 😂

Quick update. Since it’s thanksgiving and my birthday week. Life has given me the gift of Covid 😂. I ain’t heard from my buddy in question since Friday. I’ve fished it twice but only have caught one fish. I typically do better on Henry and boone

I’ve given him a few chances but this is the first time I basically told him enough is enough. We talked about maybe trying again in the morning but it’s gonna be 31 and I’m pretty sure I’m getting sick 😂. I’ll see about next weekend. It’s my birthday weekend next weekend and I really want to fish but I don’t know if I’ll be on a boat I appreciate all the responses guys. It’s been hard to wrap my head around cause I genuinely try to be positive for everyone and hope for everyone’s success. I’m realizing over here in tri cities there’s actually a ton of toxic fisherman that just want to drag you down

Update. He replied back to my text. and apologized big time. Seems he had some stuff going on in his personal life. He did admit he was wrong though. Takes a lot to admit that

I might go bank fish for a bit so you can solo it for a bit. I really think that’s what ya need right now. You’re my boy but yesterday man you got so distraught over that and it’s happened a few times this year. I hate seeing ya like that. I didn’t ask and that’s on me but I hope everything is good in personal life bro. That’s why I got quiet I didn’t know really what to say that’s the message I sent this morning and have had no reply since 🤷‍♂️. I always wish for people surrounding me to have success. So whatever he’s going through and whatever his future endeavors are I hope he succeeds. Appreciate it guys no sir. He just started and it’s a little 15 foot fiberglass with a 40 Johnson city

I went there a few weeks ago. It’s absolutely amazing. The 21 pound bass though wasn’t in its tank

My wife says the same thing y’all do. Just trying to find a good way to cut it off amicably. I wish for nothing but success for anyone. I’ve never ran in to this scenario before so it’s nice to get some insight and opinions

I did that last year and ended up with a guy that just never showed up. 😬 well we connected through a local lake fishing reports page. He had just started bass fishing wanted to learn. We fished a few times. Then I was gonna actually go with my wife and hang out with him and his wife. But about that time is when the issues started happening

thanks now my wife is looking at me crazy cause I literally laughed out loud 🤣 It’s the strangest thing I swear. Was happy for me once catching a big fish then never again. Always angry

Appreciate it guys. Just hard to find people to fish with up here and not much bank fishing real estate. It’s been like this for a while honestly. Last weekend things were better. This weekend they got way worse. Almost lost my pb smallie a few months back asking for the net and he just stared at me. So I boat flipped it. He then proceeded to smash his rod on the side of the deck. Usually I don’t ask for a net but a 4 pound smallie for a Cajun is something special. I don’t know. He wasn’t always like this. Now he’s mad cause I catch fish and he doesn’t even though I’m trying my best to help him. Terrible position to be in.

Guys I moved up to east tn last year. Love it here. Well I’ve been fishing from the back of my new buddy’s boat. Love the guy to death but here’s the problem. Anytime I catch a fish from the back of the boat he gets angry. I mean really angry. Today I caught a good one and he proceeeded to sit on the front deck for 2 hours acting like a two year old. I’ve actually now go to the point where sometimes I don’t even really fish cause he gets irritated when I catch a fish and he doesn’t. He’s new to bass fishing. I’ve been doing it for years and years in south Louisiana. I have tried to educate him and he doesn’t want to listen. It’s actually cost me a few fish this year when he throws his temper tantrum. Being the new guy in town it’s hard and I mean hard to find someone to fish with cause lots of these guys have been together years and I don’t blame them. They’ve built that relationship for years who Am I to come in to change it. Any advice guys? Or anyone in east tn needing a partner? It’s getting to the point where I can’t even fish from the back of his boat cause he’s already broke a few rods this year being irritated so I just throw random stuff 😬

From someone from south Louisiana that moved up to east tn a little over a year ago I’m still trying to find my footing in the deep finesse game

Sounds awesome. We typically fish ten foot or deeper. Guess a lesson in patience. Always used it to flip shallow cover but I’m in smallmouth reservoir territory now
