  1. Besides my gear the only other 2 items I bring with me is an extra large cup of coffee and a nice cigar to go with it. Either then that it's just go time. edit: almost forgot my 9mm S&W, the twins have my back.
  2. Cast and prey.
  3. On a spinning reel it would ice up making it difficult to make long cast. Since braid adsorbed water it would ice up a bit.
  4. Gamblers flappy daddy and recently Zmans turbo craw have worked really well for me. Craws in general would work well as a trailer, the vibration of the jib causes the claws to flap really strong which bass seem to really like to bite at.
  5. Placed an order with BizzBaits and picked up some Craws, Bug, and a pack of Pad Daddy's.
  6. Top--Rage tail toad Med--Rapala DT6, Storm Arashi Rattling Square Bill Bottom--N/A (going to to change that with some jig fishing this year).
  7. Supposed to be in the 70's all week........and rain from Tuesday-Saturday . I will say this the bass yesterday were biting hard when 9am hit, it was literally like some one turned on the On switch. Pretty amazing to witness/experience this sudden change in behavior (very welcomed behavior).
  8. Really looking forward to that early morning buzz bait/Rage tail toad bite as well.
  9. God bless the south! time to open up the mason jars and drop lures in the water from sun up to sun set. If the fish aren't biting the fluids in the mason jar are . My stogies are waiting for me to pluck them from their beds as well.
  10. This guy nailed in 40* water temps
  11. I tend to use 1/2 chatter baits/lures due to my habbit of reeling to fast for lighter lures to reach the depth I want them to. So a heavier lure makes it were I need/want it and reel as I normally do.
  12. NetBait BK Swimbait in black shad or smoking shad have really good action, That paddle tail really moves some water.
  13. Shimano Crucial Spinning Rod 6'10" Medium CRSJ610MA selling right now on TW for $83 shipped.
  14. I do it for most fish that look like they are in the 4lb+ range, it helps me know the average of bass I'm pulling out.
  15. Rapala's Helsinki Shad and Bleeding Olive Shiner have worked for me year round.
  16. Well that didn't last long lol just order the Shimano Crucial spinning rod and a couple of Zman (TW special) chatter bait. Hard to pass up the Crucial for $83. Hopefully I can go longer this time.
  17. D&M originals The new Zman custom chatterbait (TW special) looks to be like a great buy (quality components).
  18. They tend to have a bit of a muddy flavor to them if you leave the skin on so heavy flavor seasonings is needed imo (when baked/grilled not fried). I tend not to keep and eat fresh water fish, I favor salt water fish for keeping and eating.
  19. My order from North Star baits came in (amazing jigs) and that should hold me over for a while. Dropped the South Paw Football jig with a Gambler flappy daddy craw into a mason jar to see what it would look like. Man the flare of the skirt is amazing and exactly what I was hopping for.
  20. I really like my Maui Jim Peahi glasses (bronze lens) but I am really interested in buying a pair of Costa's Fisch in Blue mirror (grey tint) for those long summer days when the sun is super bright and my eyes need maximum shade. Everyone needs to keep in mind that the suns reflection of the water is just as eye damaging as starring into the sun itself. I want to keep my eye sight strong well into my golden years, I want/need the best protection I can afford. If I have to save then so be it but I'm not trusting my eyes to $10 glasses.
  21. Looks like TW has asked Zman for some custom chatter baits which look to be of good quality. Seems they finally made a well built chatterbait. I'll wait for the reviews before they get any of my $$.
  22. LOL sorry guys I forget some folks have to deal with snow/ice conditions.
  23. Wow congrats to him.
