Well, the old record was 14lb 8oz so, as a Tennessee resident, my ultimate angling goal has become a bit harder...

 

BTW - it's been a while but TWRA shocked up a 16lb 15oz LMB back in 2009 - if it had been caught on a rod and reel THAT would have been the state record !

Geez, the A-Rig strikes again.. Maybe I need to revisit this contraption..

The Alabama Rig simply attracts fish that are otherwise "uncatchable".

We have seen this repeatedly on other Tennessee River impoundments,

Pickwick in particular. 15.2 lbs is remarkable, but 10+ is a realistic possibility

and has happened more often in the last three years than in the combined

80 years history of the reservior system.

The other common thread: Florida strain bass. TWRA announced they are going to introduce them in Ft. Loudon, Kentucky and one other lake in Tennessee starting over the next year. 8 or so years from now these lakes will start giving up some monsters also.
