Got out this afternoon in nj but only lasted 45 min. Couldn't feel my fingers and decided to call it but at least I got to make a few casts. Couple more weeks and it's going to pick up!

I'd go with the old one it's still brand new and you know what you are getting plus you have 25 bucks left to buy a megabass or LC lure too! We have two or three days in the 50s this week hopefully it won't be another month I'm thinking two weeks and we can get back out there.

In New Jersey I catch at least one on every trip. The most have been on green pumpkin senkos. But have also caught them with rattle traps and spinnerbaits. Had a monster on last season but when I got it to the edge of the boat those razor teeth cut the line and it was gone. Got the blood flowing though so it's all good. Good luck!

I prefer to fish with someone because imo there's nothing worse then catching the pb and having no one there to share in the excitement. I get just as excited when my buddy catches a big one as I would if it were me. Not saying I don't go at it alone but would rather have a buddy along.

I'm in the same boat as you. Early morning and right before dark have always been my most productive times. Florida guys don't get to complain! They get great fishing year round. Lol

Nice! I just told my buddy today I'm going to go nuts if I can't get out there and make a cast soon! I don't think I can get my gear any more organized.

This is the review I was talking about. I wasn't even thinking a canoe until I saw this. was just going to go with a kayak. But after everyone's replies I think I really need to try some out. I'm heading to the outdoor show in Harrisburg next week so hopefully I can get some more hands on info there.

Thanks guys! I guess I'm going to have to get out there and test some out as soon as this water softens up. I think for me though the canoe is the way to go. When I go down the list Goose put together it's seems like we have a lot of the same needs and wants. But I'd still like to test some kayaks because it seems like there are lots of yak enthusiasts on here. Thanks again.

After seeing your setup I'm def leaning towards a canoe. That's awesome! I have lots of gear and would love to start taking my son along as soon as he's able to have an attention span longer then 10 minutes. Where do you store it? Did you make the outriggers yourself? Are they needed or did you just add them for insurance?

So I bought a Jon boat last summer and love it. But here in Jersey I'm limited to where I can take it. There's probably only 5 or 6 ramps in my area. So I've been thinking about also getting a kayak to take to some of those remote spots. But I did find a review on a meyers sports pal canoe that peaked my interest. Trying to decide between the two. I've never fished out of either so any insight would be great.

Haha I'm a big fan, I've read his book but haven't taken the obsession to that level yet. Maybe the next time the bait monkey's about to come out I'll jump in the car and go look for it! Looking forward to becoming part of it. Thanks

This wouldn't surprise me I've seen some big ones out of there. My pb came out of there this year but I didnt have a scale so I'm not positive on the weight. I'll post a pick once I figure out how. Do you fish there a lot? I used to fish macs pond in manasquan when I was a kid because it was around the block from my cousins house.
