  1. For the folks familiar with Chickamauga how far of a run is it from Dayton Boat Ramp to Sale Creek? Also, How far from Sale Creek on into Chester Frost/Dallas Island? I usually cruise around 30mph... Thanks in advance.
  2. Also here is a picture of my battery setup.. Does anyone know why I have three connections at my cranking battery? A Red, Black, and Orange... I’ve always used the Orange on positive and black on negative with my deep cycle..
  3. Does anyone know if this boat has the wiring that is sufficient to upgrade to a 24 volt Ultrex or Motorguide Tour Pro?

  5. Ok man I appreciate the help
  6. It can be linked through the high speed 4 colored cord.. I have it linked now I can mark a way point at my console and it shows up on my striker at the bow. I want to be able to link them both at my console and run them off my current echomap 73sv transducer so I can use my echomap for mapping and my striker for clearvu/traditional sonar
  7. I run a Echomap Chirp 73sv at my console with the GT40 transducer (long gray one). I also run a Striker 7cv with a CV20 (small black one)at my bow clamped onto my trolling motor. My question is this. I want to upgrade my trolling motor to either a Motorguide Tour Pro or an Ultrex and I also want to upgrade my graph on the bow to a Echomap UHD 93sv so I have mapping at my bow for gps anchoring and eventually adding LiveScope. Would it be possible to relocate my Striker to the console to run it as a dual with my Echomap Chirp. I want to be able to use the Striker for my dv and traditional sonar and use my echomap for Mapping and Side Imaging... Can someone explain what I would need to do to join those two together at my console? If for some reason that would not be possible then I wouldn't be opposed to installing an Echomap UHD 93sv at my console and moving my Echomap Chirp 73 sv to the bow but how could I connect the long gray transducer to my trolling motor?
  8. Plum is a tough winter time lake.. Summersville is mostly smallies with a few good LMB scattered in. I’d look for smallies on deep flats in 20-30 ft of water.. They are sight feeders who look for warm and sun so I’d pick a sunny day this time of year..
  9. Salmon Run and Battle Run winter ramp.. Good lake to fish this time of year!

Well the wifey approved $2500 for me to upgrade the electronics on my boat.. I currently run a Motorguide trolling motor with a Garmin Striker 7dv on the bow and a Garmin Echomap Chirp 73sv on the console Shall I buy an Ultrex? Motorguide Tour Pro? Bundle Livescope with a UHD 93sv? Choices...
  11. Looking to apply this to my local lakes - Tom, Do you like these areas near main lake points or secondary points? Or are you referring to flats that include spawning areas?
  12. I have this one on my transom and a wide on my bow and virtually cannot tell a difference
  13. Is this following the Chickamauga model?
  14. Thank You Tom! I appreciate and respect your input any time!!
  15. Asking the pros on the board.. Do these look like bass to you? I threw a dropshot, drug a jig, and throw a deep crank and couldn’t entice any bites.. Just wanna see if I am seeing what I think I see..

  17. Had a great day today on Summersville Lake in WV caught 7 total. 6 were LMB and one small SMB. My biggest was a little over 3lbs and I caught several between 1.5lbs and 2lbs which are solid fish for this area. I do need some advice though from you guys. It was sunny, 60s, with light to moderate wind. Water temp was 60-62 degrees and clear. All of my fish came on steep banks around chunk rock and boulders. I was keeping my boat about 20 yards off the bank making long 45 degree angled casts and I was working two different baits. I was throwing a KVD 200 series jerkbait and a Spro Rock Crawler 55 crankbait both were in sexy shad color. My biggest fish came in about 10 ft of water near a boulder on the crank and every other fish was caught on the jerkbait working it very slow and not “jerking it” making the bait twitch and dart. I was letting it set and giving it a slight pull just enough to cause it to flutter. The bites came between the flutters as the bait stayed suspended. Here is the part that has me confused. I missed at least 5 more fish, including one giant that was at least 5lbs, 4 LM and 1 SM that came up to hit the bait and turned at the very last split second. I did nothing different than what I did to catch the other fish. This lake has gizzard shad, alewives, and threadfin shad, as well as tons of crawfish and panfish as forage. I know sexy shad resembles threadfin shad more than gizzard shad. Do you think those fish were targeting gizzards as opposed to threadfins? Do you think the rattles in the lure turned them away at the last second? What should I do in order to capitalize on the situation??
  18. Just wanted to take a second to say thank you buddy for all of your efforts in keeping this platform running on a daily basis. There is a lot of work that goes into it that probably isn’t recognized as much as it should be. Not only do you provide a place people can go to learn to become better anglers but also a place to unwind and relax during stressful times for the enjoyment aspect of it. Again, thank YOU!
  19. Hence the reason I inquired with the folks on this board beforehand...
  20. Thought about installing a 12 volt push button ignition starter on my 2007 Aluminum Triton VT-17. I figured it would eliminate the need for an ignition key and be less to keep up with. Anyone ever installed one after market? Some on Amazon are priced as low as $10-$12.

I spray down my jigs/trailers with YUM crawfish scent. Some days it seems to make a big difference and some days it doesn't seem to matter. To me, it's worth the effort though.
  23. Fish the Moment did a great video on Squarebills in the Summer. Basically saying that you need to fish them fast because your getting a reaction bite. In clear water, don't give the fish a chance to see the bait. Deflect that sucker off any stump, laydown, rock, etc that you can. He says fish a bigger profile in the morning/low light and a small 1.5 during the mid day.
  24. What I do is..... 1. Prep the boat in the staging lane but leave safety chain and winch strap on 2. Back boat into the water until I see it lift off of the trailer. 3. Unhook the chain and winch (boat won't leave trailer) 4. Start motor and back off trailer and tie up. 5. Park truck... It's actually pretty simple.
