  1. I didn't know about this until late May. Unfortunately I can't go. I will join next year though, I hear it's well run and great fun. I participated the last two years and had a blast both times, it's a great event! Definitely check it out next year.
  2. I have a helix 5, works great but if I were to buy a new one it would be bigger... probably the 7"
  3. Do you think the pedal drive would be of value to you? That's pretty much the trade off for all of the accessories. That said I have not used either of the above boats... I have the outback and for me and the waters I fish it was a great upgrade over my cuda.
  4. Send it back, get a replacement rod, catch fish. With this issue and pictures you put up I cant see them saying its not covered for a replacement.
  5. If it fits and you're able to access it easily it's not too big. You might have an easier time just bringing the loose trays and putting them in a milk crate style box depending on the yak you have. For me it's all about the access, I want to be able to get to my gear easily without too much hassle.
  6. PB LM - Jig PB SM - Rapala Original floater
  7. Not on the cheap side but my fav cranks the last couple years are the spro little johns
  8. I have the carfiff 400 as a musky reel. It's a decent reel... I have had issues with screws backing out and the plastic release button seems cheap but all in all for the price it works good. I have heard good things from the musky guys about the okuma komodo, or if you wanted to bump up the budget the revo toro beast or Calcutta are supposed to be top of the line.
  9. I stick to 4 now a days.. when I was on the bank pretty much just did one or two rods at most.
  10. I use one like this: http://www.cabelas.com/product/malone-clipper-trade-universal-canoe-kayak-cart/1750213.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3Dkayak%2Bcart%26x%3D10%26y%3D6%26WTz_l%3DHeader%3BSearch-All%2BProducts&Ntt=kayak+cart I got it when I purchased my first used kayak. No major issues with it, sucks on the beach sand though due to smaller wheels. Stores easily in the back tankwell area of my yak when needed. If I were to buy a new one I'd get something nice like the c-tug or a scupper one.. but I have to use it almost every time I take the kayak out.
  11. Kayak buy/sell/trade group on FB I'm sure if someone is close an ATAK would probably sell fairly quickly at a good price.
  12. We use to head up there yearly mainly to fish for pike. Spinners and jerkbaits worked great, colours varied year to year. If weedy we used the "bass" style skirted spinners if not too weedy mepps seemed to work better.
  13. Not all random.. Equipment plays a role, Hard work plays a bigger role
