Nh Roll Call......
Sittin' here in Derry. I admit I've got into a rut lately and most of my fishing is done on one lake (Beleau) because my family has a house there. It has decent bass so I'm not really complaining. Would be willing to tag along now and then if anyone is looking.

Great Customer Service At Bps
Ya, they service is very good. Then again, as I think about it, I have had very good customer service just about every where I go and every site I deal with. The only exception I can think of is Dick's Sporting Goods. I have had a couple of aggravating experiences there. To be fair I have also had good service there too. Just sayin'.

Senko under a float?
When I first saw the title of this thread I scoffed, then laughed. Then sheepishly, since no one was looking, opened it up. I am convinced enough to give it a shot, but (sorry to say) won't be trying it unless I'm alone. You know, until I actually catch fish with it, then I will try to be brave enough to venture out of the closet. I gave up bobber fishing when I was 8, who knew that I would actually be seriously considering picking it back up 47 years later. Never too old to learn I guess.

Bed Fishing: Friend Or Foe
The question for me is not will it hurt the production of the fry but how it affects the adult on the nest. She is already stressed, and more stress has to affect her health, doesn't it? And for the record, I DO NOT fish during the spawn. As I said earlier, I have done it. One year a buddy of mine introduced the idea to me. Yes, it was fun at first. But I tell ya, every time we threw a bait in front of those fish they grabbed em. EVERY TIME! Just wasn't sport to me. Yes, you can defend your opinion by calling it just another pattern, but I for one, will not be there. Someone suggested lobbying your state to ban fishing during spawn, I'm okay with that. And yes, we should refuse to buy from any company, or support any organization, that openly supports things we don't agree with. I'm not a preacher either, but we all have a right to our opinions. I can't help it if some of you are wrong. (meant to be funny).

I'm My Own Worst Enemy..........
I find that I have a split personality on the water. I either refuse to change baits because I am sure that my go-to will eventually work, or I change up so much that I'm barely fishing. Neither is good of course.

Where Are The Bass In This Lake?
Hmmm, I am usually a find cover and fish it kind of guy. I would, I guess I have to be truthful, start in the top right orange/yellow area. If they weren't there I would fish the edges of the light blue and dark blue, especially on the left where all the color depths are close together. Now that I say it, I think I would start there first.

Early Morning Bass Fishing? There Asleep
Stop fishing for the girly bass. (supposed to be funny). That's weird, because I find that being on the lake as the sun comes up has almost always been effective for me. I have also found that 11am - 4pm is very slow for me. But hey, whatever works.

A Good Place To Start?
I have found that chartreuse works pretty well in murky water, I suggest you start there. Also use Colorado blades to make more vibration and help the bass find it. I have also had some luck with black/red also with Colorado blades.

Bed Fishing: Friend Or Foe
I don't have any facts about it's effect, but I choose not to fish beds. I admit I have done it but It didn't seem much like sport to me. It also seems logical to me that pulling a fish off her nest will add more stress on a fish that is about to undergo major stress in the process of laying eggs. To take it one step further, I would like to see tournaments banned during spawn. Just sayin'.

An 8Lb Fish....
Wish I had some experience there to tell you about. In NH that is a VERY large fish and I am not one of the privileged few to have attained that prize. Maybe this year!

What I Hate About Bass Fishing
Did I hear you say that there was something you don't like about bass fishing? Bite your tongue. Up here in NH I find the Smallmouth more fiesty and I just thrill when they do their aerial dance. Strange as it sounds, I think the 2-3 pound largemouths fight harder and longer than the bigger ones. I don't know if they tire out quicker or give up thinking that they are big enough to handle whatever is at the other end of the journey. I don't know, do bass even think?

Rod Selection: The Basics
I own more gear than I need so i certainly hear ya. If I break down cost per fish, each of those large mouths are pretty darned expensive. And that is just the cost of the gear. If I owned a boat cost per fish would be out of this world!

Rod Selection: The Basics
This sounds logical and I like the idea of 3 set-ups. Unfortunately my buddy (a guy who admittedly catches fish much more consistently than myself), had me convinced differently. I now own, well ummm, more than 3. Next time out I think I will try to focus on the 3 set-ups you suggest and see how that goes.
