The latest sale thread
I have 10 bags of worms and 6 of the shad baits. Actually excited about this deal, because I have almost all finesse style worms, so this will give me something different to toss, and tax was only 2.20. Will be curious to see how many shipping notices I get, first time ordering from DSG for me.

Have any of you tried those Berk floating trout worms? With the deal at DSG I figured they might be worth a shot as a Ned rig bait.

Lost Lure Memorial Thread
I river fish a ton from shore, so for me it is rare for a bait to catch even 10 fish before it is lost. I do however retire the good ones that seem to defy snags, but have long given up caring about lost baits. I have had a couple of Bandit 100s that got me 50+ fish without snagging up hard. The closest I came recently to caring was losing a bait within the first 2 trips last year that had been good enough to me that I thought of retiring it. I should have just gone ahead and retired it, because debating it was the kiss of death lol.

Wow...really disappointed in the Rage Swimmer
So if fishing waters where a light head is needed, than I assume that this would not be the bait of choice. Some of the waters I fish anything heavier than 1/8 of an ounce will not make it back to me, snagged up, and even lighter baits will be lost eventually as well.

Whopper Plopper sizes?
I really hope you are right about the 110. For lakes where solid bass run in the 15-16" range that would be just right. I have 2 90s a 130 and a 190. Interestingly, in northern WI the 130 size was recommended on a trophy Musky lake. Guessing due to fishing pressure. I have yet to get a fish on one, but would say that if you know the size the majority on your waters are throwing, I would try the other size. Some of the Musky plugs we toss up here sound like someone dumped a body overboard when they land, there is know way to get a quiet splash free landing with one.

BPS Double Down Plopper??? And I was Going To Buy Another WP 130
The thing that is getting to me is it really seems like there is a grudge against BPS here, perhaps R2S pro staffer? This is not the most blatant copy I have seen, yes the back is very similar, but the front is not. I just don't see what all the anger is about, BPS should just take plopper out of the name and move on. I am really curious what esoxfreak would purchase for baits, because there aren't a lot of original designs out there anymore, just subtle tweaks of existing baits. Maybe we should just start a thread about knock off baits, could get interesting, Cabela's has a least one knock off that I think isn't right, but I won't boycott them because of it.

BPS Double Down Plopper??? And I was Going To Buy Another WP 130
While I understand and appreciate your arguement to a point, but where do you draw the line. Is everyone that makes a floating minnow unethical because rapala was first on the market with one? Don't forget that the different brands have a different action. I could even make the case that LD and R2S were unethical in making the plopper. They took an existing concept and all they did was change the blade material? Like I said where do you draw the line. Do we want only one manufacturer making a single tail grub, etc? I did read once that Reaction Innovations would not go to BPS because they had to sign away parts of their designs to be copied. If that is true than R2S may have signed a similar deal and given permission for this to happen. If anyone has any info on how this works can they chime in. I am curious though if it was pulled for now due to 'plopper' being in the name.

So what is wrong with BPS making a double prop version, which isn't really a novel idea either. Lets say they had made the blades out of metal, would you have ripped them for copying a topraider or other metal bladed topwater, or is your issue specific to R2S baits? If I were R2S, I would be more ticked that somebody thought of it before they did, not at the company that did it. If JFrancho is right that there is no patent on the blade, then there is no issue here at all.

Is a spincast reel still a legit option?
Happy to admit that I am going to try this this summer on spinning gear with my ugly sticks. I still have a couple that I still use a lot along with my St Croix sticks. I figure the uglies will hold up well to the bow and arrow cast.

Is a spincast reel still a legit option?
Not sure I want to, but for skipping docks this might work out pretty good. And after watching the video, it got me to thinking am I missing out by doing 97% of my worm fishing on spinning gear.

Is a spincast reel still a legit option?
While I agree with most of what everyone is saying, I still can't shake that one of the better worm fishermen in his time preferred them for some situations. Watching that quite old video I am learning some stuff. For those that haven't watched it, it is a pretty good video.

The latest sale thread
I am still in with TW, but did have to get the gift cards when they were 10% off so that my savings over Memorial Day would be 25%. Really hoping they do extra off on some brands like they did on the BF sale.

Is a spincast reel still a legit option?
I was watching the old Wormin with Woo video and he talked about using a spincast reel vs a baitcaster so the bait would drop straight down like a spinning reel instead of swinging the bait back towards the boat with a baitcaster. Also said the bait would drop through surface weeds with the spincast better than a with a baitcaster. While the video is dated, the points he makes still seem to be valid. Should I get a decent spincast reel and give it a go or just continue to use my spinning reel for worming.

Help me identify this crankbait
If it is a knockoff it is a darn good one, to me the eyes almost look like they were added later and not as part of the original. Grabbed pics of one of my many Bandits, usually I lose them before they catch me 10 fish, so this mad cow was retired. They all catch fish, the great onset just snag up less. Are the knockoffs any good? With the recent price increase I only buy on sale. I do have a decent stash knowing I will lose 10-20 a year. You ever on the new old RS forum anymore?

Help me identify this crankbait
What do you think it is then, definitely not a square A, posted a link to the bait on Bombers site, bill is wrong. That looks the same as all the Bandit 100s I have except for the paint job. http://www.bomberlures.com/product/square-a/ That has to be a Bandit http://www.banditlures.com/product/100/nggallery/page/4

Help me identify this crankbait
I am going with it being a Bandit 100 which has those little creases in the front on both sides, never seen a bomber that has them. Never seen the color before though. I also thought the bomber square a was a fatter and shorter bait?

Ned rig for kids
I would start them on road runners and a grub, or just something that keeps moving, to keep their interest up and minimize downtime. IMO the Ned rig is just to easy to gut hook fish if they aren't paying close enough attention. Also tossing back bleeding fish may turn them away from fishing instead of hooking them fo life in the hobby we all enjoy.
