  1. Thanks, the 3rd bite you described is what I'm struggling with because of all the wood and stumps in the bottom of my local pond. I always feel a little weight every few cast and I'll set the hook and it will be nothing. I'm hoping with time I'll be able to distinguish whether it's a bite or not once I get a feel for the bait
  2. Thanks for all the replies. Haven't been able to get back on until today. But to answer most of the questions I'm pretty much using 1/4 to 3/8 oz jigs with a reaction innovations trailer. Thanks for the advice. I think some of my problem comes from not having the experience of how to retrieve the line and keeping tension in the line. I will try the night fishing if I get a chance. Thanks again Thanks, I will check out the video. I'm learning more patience every time I go out and try. I think most of my problem comes from not letting the bait drop/reeling in to fast and not working it correctly
  3. This year I've decided I'm gonna force myself to learn jigs but it has only resulted in frustration. I've been trying to practice different retrieves and I how to detect a bite but I don't have any luck. I know your supposed to watch your line but it feels like I wouldn't be able to tell because my line is always moving and shaking when I'm bouncing the jig off the bottom. I really want to learn how to fish jigs but I can't figure out how to detect bites
  4. So on the 25th day they do an extra 25% off the already on sale items?
  5. Thanks, time to add some goodies to my cart
  6. Order number 1 of 2 from TW's black Friday sale. This was the one I was most excited about, couldn't wait to get my hands on my new reel. I had my eye on it for awhile and decided to pull the trigger with the sale.
  7. do the sales on the items last just that day or do they stay up until the promotion has ended?
  8. Girlfriend doesn't help the bait monkey in me, got me my new favorite lure, I love how this thing looks. Can't wait to get this thing in the water and try it out.

  10. Yeah that makes sense. I've never really fished jerkbaits. Thinking about getting into it next season. Whenever I really fished them I was using my cranking setup. Thanks for your reply
  11. I saw the Halo twilight series was on sale at TW, couldn't pull the trigger since I already bought a reel. I've also never used halo brand before. Would you mind letting me know what you think when they arrive?

  13. I've been thinking about having a seperate jerkbait setup. I have a Shimano Sellus crankbait rod I was going to use, but I was wondering what the best gear ratio would be, I have a 5.4:1 Lews super duty that needs a house for. Should a gear ratio in the 5s be good or should I be looking for something in the 6 range

  15. Just put in my order, didn't need many lures but did get a concept "a" reel, 600yd spool of yo zuri 12lb hybrid, and some mustad kvd treble hooks to upgrade some cranks with. Might go back and get a new spinerbait rod, I've been looking at the Halo Twilite Series one that is already on sale. Any thoughts on them?
