Anyone have a Shimano Zodias 6'10" ML?
How light can it go and still load enough to launch lures? How is sensitivity and balance?

Anyone have a Shimano Zodias 6'10" ML?
Does anyone have this rod and can give honest feedback? I am looking for a bottom contact light jighead + curly tail/minnow/fluke/grub/tube trailer. The jighead will mostly be 1/8th oz and trailers are mostly 2 inches long. 7 to 8 pound flourocarbon on a Shimano Aldebaran. I've read that the 610ml Zodias feels more like a M than a ML. Is that true? I wonder how it compares to the Phenix Recon 6'8 ML and O/\/\3N Black ML.

Can we talk about finesse Casting rigs?
What model reels are the top two? They look awesome

Which bfs rod to get between these 3 choices...?
6'8" L Phenix Recon 6'8" L Shimano Zodias 6'8" L Majorcraft Speedstyle My budget is under $200 for the rod. A shimano aldebaran with a honeycomb spool will be going on it.

Kind of disappointed in Dobyns
I agree. This is what we call "double dipping". Already made the sale to the retailer, and now gonna profit some more from the end-user.

Thinking of picking up a Zebco Omega ZO2
The other day I was fooling around with a Barbie spincast combo and HOLY COW it was fun fishing it like I wanted to break it. I landed a 3.5 pound largie and had me smiling from ear to ear. I had 20 lb power pro super slick spooled on, flipping and pitching at weed beds. Anyway, I have high end and middle tier Megabass, St Croixs, Dobyns, Daiwas, Shimanos.. but I've never had as much fun as that Barbie combo. Does anyone have the Zebco Omega ZO2? I'm thinking I need to take my spincasting game up a level.

About to purchase reels from Japan on ebay and have ?
It's the luck of the draw. Most of the time you don't pay anything. It's not that much anyway 5-6% of the value if you live in the usa. Here's some food for thought. My megabass rod and reel from Japan arrived to my house in 3 days through EMS. My order from TW that I ordered at the same time took 5 days to arrive. International shipping is phenomenal these days.

Still hating fluorocarbon!
Like everyone else has said, you may like the lighter lines. Try 12 or 14 pound FC Sniper.

New Caenan vs Speed Spool LFS
Another vote for Lews Tournament MB. If you really want Shimano, go for the Casitas instead because it has the new brake system. The Caenan still has the old brakes and it doesn't have the outside dial brake like the Casitas. Also the Casitas casts farther than the Curado I. I've had them all and not loyal to any brand.

Yozuri hybrid vs Mccoy mean green
Have used both and prefer Mccoy. It's more limp and has less memory compared to yozuri.

Some reels just arrived back from tuning.
d**n nice

This is the number one fishing line period!
Trilene XL. I have caught over 30 species of fish with it and been using it since I was a child. Has never let me down.

Daiwa Tatula versus Dobyns Fury
To me some powers/tapers are better than others in the same line. Like the tatula 7' medium light full handle grip to me fishes just as good as the orochi xx flat side special at half the price. I own both and I actually prefer my tatula ml over my fss. Then there's the tatula M power and I'm just mehh it's a power heavier but doesn't feel as crisp. The ML is better. It's my squarebill/shallow crank rod. The rest of the tatula lineup is too slow for bottom contact for me so that's the only rod I liked. Actually I like the 7'1 mh xf tatula too, everything else was just OK and did not pop out. Luckily there's so many choices out there it's foolish to be brand loyal. My point is that it isn't fair to compare dobyns fury to a tatula rod without being specific about application and technique usage. Some rods might be better than others in the same brand. The xf taper st croix has is pretty special, imo, but the rest of the fast and moderate rods are just OK to me. I absolutely love st croix's ML power spinning rods too, but I hate their MH and H so I buy from another company. Dobyns Champion has that cb glass and graphite blend (704, 705, 765) that I think is pretty special, but everything else is just OK to me. I just don't feel like the Champion rods are sensitive enough for bottom contact. Great for moving baits like chatterbaits though. I'd move up to the extreme champion for bottom contacts. I wouldn't get an extreme champ for moving baits though, sensitivity is not necessary. I haven't fished a Fury before but I'm sure a rod or two from that lineup is a winner while the other Furys are just OK and nothing special. I wish I was filthy rich so I could try them all and give you a better answer.

What's a good brand for tubes?
I checked TW and BPS but there's too many choices that I don't know what to buy. I need 2" tubes for crappies and 4" tubes for smallmouth & largemouth. I have a feeling 50 people are going to recommend 50 different tube brands though.. lol.

Shishamo Reels
Anyone tried this reel? I keep seeing this on my facebook ads. It has 18 ball bearings lol. Only $39.99!? Why buy Shimano when you can get Shishamo? Just thought I'd share this humorous post.

Tell me all about the Luck-E-Strike Rick Clunn STX Jerkbait
Currently I don't have any jerkbaits in my arsenal. I catch so many fish on other lures that I never thought to give jerkbaits a try, but this year may be that year for jerkbaiting. Looked around on TW and came across these. Can someone tell me all about them?

Top Finesse Worms
This guy pretty much said it for me. I'm not picky about finesse worms and have caught fish on all of them. Picked them up on sale. The elaztech ones last a long time! I'll probably never have to buy them again in this lifetime.

Whopper Plopper Review
I can't believe you guys got that in your mtb either. It's one of my favorite topwaters for early morning and at night and it's not cheap. I love the chugging sound it makes.

What is a good lipless crankbait
Sadly I never have much luck with the Rat'L'Trap and I've given it a lot of time. I switched over to a Rippin Rap in the colors helsinki, red crawdad, and green tiger uv and slayed them. Also catch walleyes on these so it's my new favorite lipless.

I finally found the perfect swimbait reel for me!
Yep I'm definitely aware of that but in my original post, I don't throw anything over 3 oz. Mostly 1 oz to 2.5 oz like the Gantarels and 6" Line-Thrus. For the guys throwing those bigger baits these small reels would not be suitable.

I finally found the perfect swimbait reel for me!
^ The Bay Game 300 is much bigger than a 50 size and weighs 7.5 oz, which is a deal breaker to me. Even the 150 CI4 Chronarch is noticeably bigger in hand compared to the Tournament MB. Shimano needs to make an Aldebaran 50 reel with a spool that holds enough line for swimbaits. Now I would buy 10 of those!

Awesome!! Thanks for sharing! I think there should be more posts like this so others can have different options!
