  1. I was handling the lite speed spool today in store. Honestly, I felt like my lews tournament pro was much smoother/better feel and just built better. But that was only from handling the reel for about a minute. Just my opinion but I'd get a tournament pro.
  2. I have a 6'10 *** M and 7'1 mh ***. One is paired with lews tourney pro and the other with a curado e7. Both balance right at the locking nut. Great setups.
  3. If I were going to spend $100 on a casting reel. This would be my choice. On sale right now. I'd jump on it. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Lews174-Speed-Spool-Tournament-Baitcasting-Reel/1159081.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3Dlews%26x%3D0%26y%3D0%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%2BProducts&Ntt=lews&WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products
  4. Sorry, I should've been more clear. I was asking about the new models and not the older small mouth version. I heard great things about the small mouth versions though but I don't know if the same goes for the current series.
  5. Looking to buy the 6'10 ml model. It looks interesting and is listed as 3.38 oz weight. Anybody have any experience with this rod or another model? If so, how did you like it?
  6. Had the chance to handle the maxim spinning model in store. It felt better than other rods that were priced similarly in the 100 price point. Still not sure If I should buy one or not though. Anybody have experience using it? If so, how's the senstivity, balance, and all the other good stuff. Any info is appreicated! Thanks.
  7. *** *** black rods. 7'1 mh, 7'3mh, or heavy models. great rods.
  8. I kayak fish and carry my yak on my 06 civic coupe. I have a yakima roof rack with the stretch kit. I thought about getting yakima kayak attachments such as the rollers/saddles but they were not necesssry so I did not purchase. Get a faring or else the wind noise while driving will cause you to go insane. Also, get a yakima boat loader if it is just yourself. Makes loading a breeze.
  9. I use plano boxes for my lures. Usually I carry five boxes when I kayak fish and also bring a backpack with all my plastics. Like stated above,I bring everything I have when I fish. Never know what the bass want. As far as organizing, I categorize my lures by the types. For example swimbaits, lipless cranks, billed cranks, jigs, topwater, spinnerbaits etc.
  10. Booyah pad crasher and poppin pad crashers are great. Well priced with a soft body. Ill even say they are as good as my livetarget frogs.
  11. I cant speak for the 2.0 versions because I have never used one. But for the first gens I had a 7' mh casting. It is a light rod and was pretty sensitve. It was stiffer than what it was rated like everyone else has stated. The rod now sits in my garage with one guide completely gone and majority of the inserts broken.
  12. I do not own either of these kayaks but the fs12t was my choice while I was researching for them in that price range. I actually ended up getting the fs128t for a good deal. As far as the fs128t goes, I love it. Stable to where I can stand on it and feel comfortable(only in calm waters for me though.) Has great storage space in the hatches and on top of the kayak. Great yak. It is pretty similar to the fs12t though. I'm pretty sure that If I had not found a good deal on my yak, I would've bought the fs12t and would've been happy with it.
  13. Oh man chatterbaits are amazing! I caught my biggest bass of 7lb 15oz off of a zman chatterbait in the white/chartruese colorway. Put some keitech trailers on them and they are killer! All white and white chartruese are my favorite colors.
  14. Hello, I've always ran across this site when I often did my research for fishing. Great info from here and always stopped by as a guest. Well finally decided to make an account. I'm a fisherman from sacramento, ca. As you can tell from my name I do kayak fishing. I've always wanted to kayak but never had the chace to. About 6 months ago I got my hands on a fs128t and curerntly love it. I also just recently installed a elite 4x-hdi on it this thursday. Looking fowward to many more trips out with it! I've been fishing essentially my whole life. The love started from my parents at a young age. Ironically, my parents now tell me that I fish too much (if there is such a thing). My repsonse is always "You guys got me started. Blame yourselves." Anyways, glad to be a part of the forum and looking to many more insightful information from other members.
