I have a Pflueger Patriach spinning reel with 30lb braid. When I get caught to a log or a rock fishing river, my reel would let the line out even when I set my drag at maximum. I don't have this problem with my other spinning reel spooled with mono line, the line would just snap.

Does anyone know where I can get another Revo SX gen 3 spool? I have a nick on it so that I feel it hinder the reel casting distance. otherwise it works great. Much appreciate

I just received this reel as a gift so I am thinking of getting a new spinning rod with it but I am not sure what action and power. I am planning to use it for small cranks, weightless 5" senko and light shaky head. Any suggestion guys?

I will be going to St Croix river this Saturday to attempt small mouth fishing. From what I know, tubes and jerk baits are good bets for them. Anything else I should try. Are their behaviors similar to large mouth this time of the year. I will be on Hudson bay, WI St Croix river. Thanks guys

Which one did you attend?

I am planning to attend a few fishing/sportman shows this winter because I heard you can usually find great deals on rods and reels (looking for a Legend Extreme and Shimano Curado I) For those that attend them, is this true or I am just better off waiting for sale at Cabelas/Gander Mountain, etc... How many are there in the twin cities? I only heard of the Sportmem's show in ST Paul.

So I am thinking of pulling the trigger to purchase the Legene Extreme LXC70MHF. I will pair it with the Curado I in the 7:2 gear ratio. This will mainly be my jigs, plastics, t-rig, crank baits set-up. Do you guys think these would go well together for my Bass techniques? Thank you for the advices

Is it me or the way pikes hit jigs? I caught plenty of them on z-man chatter baits and single blade spinners and rarely loose a lure. However, I tend to loose my jigs when they bite.

I, personally like the taste of pike. I think they taste better than walleye. Just more bones in them.

Any thing over 20" is fun but if you keep loosing $3 jigs every other bite then it is no fun.

I have this favorite spot on a 1000 acre lake that gets up to 60 feet deep at mulitple locations. This spot always have consistenly produce 2-4 lbs for me, flat area 5-10 feet the gradual drop offs up to 30-60 feet. Lately, I have been catching more northerns at this spot from 16" to 36" in size than bass. Now all I catch is northern. I typically use black/blue 1/2 oz football jig. My question is since there seem to be an increase in northern population at this spot, do they chase the bass away? Because I have not catch a single bass in 3 outings at this spot.

So I just bought this spinning reel and I am looking for a spinning rod to pair it with. The reel itself is about 14 oz in weight so I am looking for a spinning rod that would match it. Mainly for shakey head, light weight plastic, texas rig. I am thinking of medium, fast action, 7 foot rod. Let's keep it under $100 thoughts?

If you don't mind traveling, get one from the Northern states like Minnesota and Wisconsin where boats are only used 4-6 months a year at most due to winters. Therefore a 8 years old boat only saw maybe 4 full seasons. Yet it valued at 8 years old instead of 4.

Spot lock and track record are the two features I used most.
