  1. how small can it be that you can fit in a trunk!
  2. Same thing happened to me but with bowfin, i got so mad i went down the street asking every person if they had anything i could do for money, within 3 hours i had 20 bucks and i spent it on a nice 17 dollar net. . . and then it was stolen a month later.
  3. i don't have a kayak, but if i could afford one, i would definitely choose a kayak over a boat. for one they are stealthy, they are fast for not much effort, and having one would give me an excuse to not take my annoying friends fishing with me
  4. heard about that on river monsters, makes me shiver when i think about it.
  5. Wait what?? the world record bass wasn't caught in Georgia, What species are you referring to
  6. i always let my big bass go, and even if i was catching to eat, the smaller bass taste way better than large ones. and if you want a mount really bad just take measurements and pictures and get a replica.
  7. that would be my #1 quote if i fished on the delta, its too perfect.
  8. very true, if your the person deciding whats going on the shelves, then you need to have some experience with whats good to put on the shelves.
  9. When all else fails pull out a wacky worm (Senko wacky rigged)
  10. I have never even used a baitcaster, they were always too expensive for me, unless you want a crappy one which i would rather pass. Spinning for days
  11. the only lure i have caught bowfin on besides dead/live bait would be A crankbait, caught 2 on cranks, and a big version of a rooster tail (forgot the name).
  12. Absolutely nothing is better than the livetarget hollow body frog, im a froggin fanatic and i have tried about 50 different frogs or so, livetarget is the softest most realistic frog on the market. but if your a poor man, believe it or not the scum frog is a catchin machine, mainly because of how soft it is, you can get some real nice hook sets with it. i would suggest everyone to atleast give livetarget a try, and you'll be hooked
  13. your anal about who is operating a boat, i don't think i get what you mean
  14. The only fish that should be considered "trash fish" are ones that are invasive to the area. but that don't mean they should be considered "trash fish" where their native. Bowfin are my second favorite species to target, and a blast to catch too.
  15. Thanks for the suggestions, i think i will start using a leader and see how it goes, too much money goes down the drain from loosing baits, plus just the other day i had on what would've been my PB pike, but of course it had to be while i was bass fishing and bit right through my line
  16. If there are pike, try using a spinnerbait or rapala x-rap. if there are catfish or bowfin, catch a bluegill, cut it up, put some on a hook, cast it out and let it sit on the bottom, watch your line to see if it moves. theres my tips P.S catfishing is fun, if there are any.
  17. if you get a senko and wacky rig it, it usually will fall really slow. its gotten me some decent fish in water that was about 6" till weeds. and if that doesnt work try any soft bait, wacky rig it and see which falls slowest. and if all of the above fails, hollow body frogs are my favorite
  18. It always seems to happen when i'm fishing for bass, i make a good cast, a perfect retrieve, and. . . SNAP! a pike grabs my lure and bites right through my line. i have lost over $100 to pike snapping my bass lures off. Of course i love fishing for pike too, but when i'm targeting specifically bass it gets annoying. It makes me wonder if i should just always be using a leader, that way i can not loose lures and catch some big pike at the same time. Any suggestions???
  19. It all depends on what i'm fishing for. if i'm going for big bass, i average about 1/30 casts, but if i'm going for numbers instead, ill average about 1/5 casts.
  20. Bowfin always put up more of a fight than bass, but when they dive in to that vegetation, you can just never know what you got on the end of your line.
  21. I love DIY projects, I modified an old paddleboat for fishing, and man was it fun, turned out smokin hot too. Keep us updated man
  22. I have fished at some highly fished lakes, and my go to bait would have to be the wacky worm. It always gets the job done
  23. I caught my PB on a on a Jitterbug, a 5 lber, and not even an our later i caught good 4 lber. both really early in the morning. I would also suggest buying a Jitterbug, their probably the easiest topwater lure to use too
