  1. In my personal opinoin, pictures is all you need. or if you want a mount get a replica so you can release the beauty back into the waters
  2. The good size bass bite here in MI. has been terrible for me recently, so i would say any fish over 2 lb would be a success to the trip, currently that is. as for numbers im getting a little sick of catching 50 half lbers every trip, so that's why their not counting towards a successful trip for me.
  3. Never a self hook, but when i was younger and first getting into fishing, i was on the shoreline and wasn't paying attention to my surrounding all too well, my friend passed behind me at the same time that i was casting and SNAP! i thought i had snapped my 20 lb test and crankbait on the picnic table behind me, but instead it was the head of my friend. he had to get rushed to the hospital and have it removed, three hooks all past the barb, they had to make exit holes to push them out. i gave him a bunch of my lures as a "im sorry i hooked you in the head" but i still feel like crap about it to this day.
  4. I'm in the same boat, been looking for beds but I cant find any! does anyone know if the spawns over in MI, i assume it is.
  5. if you haven't explored the whole lake for two years then you definitely need to expand, go fish every spot on the lake to get a feel for the depth and the type of vegetation it holds, and maybe on the way pull in a lunker or two. I personally can hit about half my lake in a day so i fish were I think they'll be at the time according to the time, weather, date, etc.
  6. Wacky worm works most of the time, I can just jiggle it in their face and theirs a good chance they'll strike again. but with 12 misses on the sexy dawg they could just be hitting it, have you tried using a jerkbait as a follow up?
  7. same except both when I'm fishing with someone, by myself I usually don't say much.
  8. I didn't learn how to fish until I was about 11, and even then it was from a friend I met when I moved. so needless to say I'm the only one in my family who even expresses an interest in fishing, let alone an addiction
  9. I fish a pond nearby my house that holds some huge lunkers, I just don't let anyone know about it. if someone asks me where i caught a fish, i just name off a random lake or pond that's nearby, and we go fish that place up instead.

  11. I have been in a rut the past few days also, been using all sorts of different lures and versions of the lures and can't get even one fish! I would say try deeper water and see if there still hiding in the depths, or maybe try something that's real slow like a wacky worm, that's what I'm going to have to do next trip out. Good Luck
  12. I love jugging, didn't know many others did it, sadly its illegal here in MI.
  13. Same here on the turtles, sometimes impossible to unhook, and with $2 to $3 on my setup it can add up quickly.
  14. i find it odd that everyone dislikes the mount that some of the highest rated fishing channels on youtube use, i for one like the chest mount, and i believe its more of a person's personality that makes me want to watch their videos rather than camera angle.
  15. Congrats on the new PB, that's a great looking fish, what was your PB before this pig?
  16. 2 days of fishing from dawn till dark, third day caught a nice 4lber to ease my pain.
