  1. Went and got the boat out of storage today. 2005 Alumacraft Navigator Sport. 75 HP 4 -stroke Yamaha outboard. Bought it new and have enjoyed it ever since!!!!!!
  2. In my experience the CO has always pulled up near my boat and asked me to hold up life jackets. I have never been asked to produce a license. I have even had my fish checked at a ramp and had an invasive species check, but not asked for my license.
  3. Going to try swimbaits ,Texas rigged worm and football jig. I haven't really used any of them much. Also I need to be more versatile on days when I am not catching them. My first action will probably be at Devils Lake, ND. If I guy hits it right, you can catch walleye, pike and white bass up shallow with a good chance at some really big fish. I love chucking spinnerbaits and catching big pike. Great way to get all the equipment ready for MN opener.
  4. MLF, Zona, Joe Bucher Outdoors, Jason Mitchell Outdoors, Timmy Horton, Linder's Angling Edge. If I could only watch one, it would be MLF.
  5. This is the latest (November 5th), I have ever caught a fish from the boat. In my neck of the woods people are waiting to get on the ice. Very warm fall. Fishing was slow, but had to go 1 last time.

  7. I caught this largemouth at the beginning of the year and then again this fall. It had a very distinctive upper jaw and was in the same area so I am sure it is the same fish. The bottom pic of the smallmouth is from last summer and this summer. I am assuming it is the same fish because of the missing tail section. I am curious if you guys have ever caught a fish that you know you caught before.
  8. Awesome fish!!!!!!!!!
  9. Got out for last time. Fished 4 hours. 7 bass, 1 pike. Water temp 44-47. Dropped off boat to be winterized and stored. Caught all fish on Rapala in pic. This bass was 16.5 inches and had two big gashes on both sides (the other side was worse). If you looked closely you could see the bite pattern. The second pic is a bass my son caught earlier this year that also had a cool bite pattern on it. I'd like to catch whatever tried to eat these 2.
  10. Muskie was caught in Northern Minnesota. The lake I fish does not have many, but I have been lucky enough to catch a couple over the last few years while bass fishing. Caught this one when I was out alone. Muskie Selfie. My son lost a big one this year on a wacky worm. Jumped clear out of the water 15 feet from boat and snapped line. I had a very sad boy that day.
  11. Caught the Muskie burning a spinnerbait over a weed bed. Only had bass net in boat so I had to hand land it. My son caught the bowfin on a wacky worm.
  12. I was fishing outside weed edge. This lake has a lot of sharp drops. I tried to let wind blow me down the drop off and I just cast parallel to the weeds. I did catch a lot of weeds, but if I wasn't getting any weeds, I wasn't getting any action. The wind really picked up and I had a hard time staying on a spot. I did try shallower cranks and swim jig, but on the larger lake only got bites on DT 10. Also had a smaller muskie follow. If he would have bit, that would have made the day a bit more fun.
  13. Got out from 11:00 - 5:00. Fished a small shallow lake connected to a larger deeper lake. Got 9 bass in first 2 hours. Then moved to bigger lake and proceeded to catch 4 in four hours. Biggest were 17.5 and 17 inches. First 8 came on Strike King Swim Jig, 1 on KVD 1.5. The last 4 were all on a DT 10. Water temps ranged from 49.1 to 51.3. Calm in the morning and wind picked up in the afternoon. Another day when I left fish to find more fish and was too stubborn or dumb to go back to what worked.
  14. Fished 4 hours again today. 13 bass, 3 pike. Caught 5 on white swim jig in shallow water (lost 3 jigs to pike bite offs), 4 on a DT 10 fishing deep weeds, others caught on shallow cranks. Two biggest today were 18 inches. Warmer today than yesterday. Water temps were in the 52 degree range. Planning on getting out next weekend once and that may be it. Had to work hard for them, but any day in the boat is a good day.
  15. Got out for 4 hours today. 10 bass, 1 pike. Most fish were 13-16 inches. Biggest 19 inches. Water temp was between 50.2 and 53 degrees. Most fish were in the 4-8 ft. KVD 1.5 and 2.5 caught all but 1 fish. Windy and cold!! Probably get out 3 more times before boat gets put away?.
  16. Here are a few from Saturday.
  17. I fish in Northern Minnesota. North of Bemidji. I was low 50's in the morning and 56 ish when I quit at 4:30. Had to get in water to launch and load boat. It was chilly!!
  18. Got out for 6 and 1/2 hours today. Caught 18 largemouth, 1 smallmouth, 6 pike. Best 2 were 4.5 and 5 pounds. Three hours of the day were cloudy and I caught 22 of my fish during this time. When the sun was out I couldn't get them to bite. Most fish came on white swim jig with soft plastic minnow and KVD 2.5 crank bait. Water temp was 52 in the morning and 56 when I quit. Overall a great day.
  19. Got out for about 4 1/2 hours today in the Bemidji area. Fished 3 hours on one lake and caught 8. Switched to a smaller shallower lake and caught 10 in an hour and a half before the rain came. Most fish came on Strike King KVD 2.5. Most hits came on the pause as the bait was floating up. Tried throwing a spinnerbait and couldn't get any takers. Water temp was 61 degrees.
  20. I fish Northern Minnesota and there are pike in all the lakes. I spent time learning to remove y-bones and they are really good to eat. I am not a fan of the slime, but my biggest complaint is the small ones can be really slippery and they flop like crazy. You need to really be careful when fishing with cranks. Nothing worse than a hook in the hand while still connected to a pike. I will say that when you are fishing with kids and the fishing is slow, aggressive pike have saved many a trip.
  21. I got out the 16th - 20th in the Bemidji area. Water temps hovered around 68 degrees. The fish seemed to have moved from shallow water to the first break with weeds or to heavy weed beds. Most fish were caught in 5 - 12 feet. When it was breezy, I found fish shallower in thick weeds. Caught most burning a spinnerbait over the weeds. One day was calm and caught more fish that day throwing plastic worms to outside weed edges. The weeds are starting to fill in, and the bite should become more predictable. Tried some topwater and caught a few on a popper, also tried a x-rap prop bait, but I need practice. I like fishing topwater, but I don't have as much confidence in top water so I do not use them as much as I should. Hopefully with a little warm weather the bite will really pick up!!
  22. Fished 4 different Bemidji area lakes 31st - 2nd. Mornings were cold (in the upper 30's the first 2 days) and wind was 10- 20 mph every day. Found fish on one of the lakes under docks and shallow with senkos. Other lakes had big reed flats that range from 5 to 6 feet down to 2 to 3 feet. Fish were in 2 to 3 feet on the sandiest parts of the lake, caught nothing until we hit these spots. It was very windy, so we drifted with the wind and threw spinnerbaits. I haven't found fish on outside weed edge like I normally do in the summer. Water temps in low 60's.
  23. Fished the Bemidji area. Most bass were shallow, less than 6 feet. Caught most on spinnerbaits and a few on plastic worms. Most fish were 12 to 14 inch. A few nice ones. Bigger fish were caught on Texas rigged worms and were very shallow or under docks.
