Kayak micro power pole
I don't have one but with my limited knowledge of physics I'd say it's very likely it's going to spin depending on the wind and the type of soil the pole is sunk into.

Sea Eagle STS 10 Inflatable Boat
I bought a Sea Eagle about 5 years ago in the hopes to get out on the water and to be able to stand. I only ended up taking it out once. As nice as it was for keeping stored away and being able to fit it in my SUV it was just a pain to deal with. I didn't like the process of getting it set up before fishing. I also hated the fact that I had to get it registered. I recommend a kayak over an inflatable boat. Much less of a hassle and it's still easy to store and transport. I'm able to strap it down to the roof of my SUV and there is little set up before fishing along with not having to register it.

Veritas 2.0 vs 2017 Vendetta
They must be trying to get rid of their stock of Veritas 2.0 rods. They've really been on sale a lot this year so far. Use to retail for $119, then dropped to $99, then $79 and now $69. Just on Monday they had them marked down to $32 on their own site. I think they are a great rod for the price.

Gander Mountain Closing
They're closing all over the place. The one closest to me shut down and sent all their returned/damaged goods to an auction. I went to it and managed to get a couple sweet deals.

Not Cool
It works both ways. If he wants to put false information on social media in order to look good then he better be ready to get called out and embarrassed on social media.

What was your worst fishing purchase decision ever?
Ugly? I think it looks sweet! Black and Gold Hawkeye colors. Put it on a Skeet Reese rod if you feel it needs to match. As much as I like how certain rods and reels look together it still doesn't matter one bit when catching fish. I'd rather just have quality products.

What was your worst fishing purchase decision ever?
I got the Bajo Minnow Lure Kit for a present when I was a kid and I loved it. Caught some really nice bass on them. Seemed like a gimmick but it did work.

Abu Garcia Summer Sale
I knew everything was going to go very fast. As soon as I fought out about the sale I bought the rods quickly. After that I posted it on here. Looked a bit later and the rods were out of stock already and some prices had gone up. Gotta act quick on deals like that.

Abu Garcia Summer Sale
I feel pretty lucky to get what I did. I have an extra spinning reel without a pole so was able to get a 7 foot MHF Veritas and I needed to get a new pole for frogs and other heavy gear so I got the 7'6" MHF Veritas. After tax it only cost $68!!! That's still cheaper than what Cabelas is selling them for and they have them marked down to $69.99 which is still a good deal.

How much to budget for a kayak?
$1,000 is probably the price line for getting something really good. I think you can find what you need for around $800 though but that would be the low end for something comfortable and stable.

Is it even worth it?
99% of the time I agree with that. There are some occasions where it's not. I don't regret going out last week on my afternoon off but it was a bad experience. I was close to going over in my kayak and bent my paddle so not great.

Is it even worth it?
It's not always worth it. Yesterday I would've been better off staying at work. I got beat up taking my kayak out. Was cold and too windy. Ended up bending my paddle fighting the wind and current while trying to get out of a tree. Only managed one small fish and zero other bites.

River fishing for large mouth bass
I'm heading out to the river tomorrow to do some pre-fishing for a tourney on Sunday. The weather has been close to 70 the last week but today it's in the 50's and tomorrow will be in the 40's. Sunday is suppose to be in the 40's as well with rain. I don't have very high expectations. Not even sure I'm looking forward to it anymore.

Looking for Kayak/1 Person Canoe on a budget
Dick's has a good deal on the Field & Stream Eagle Talon 120 right now. I don't have any experience with it but it seems to have decent reviews. https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/p/field-stream-eagle-talon-120-kayak-15fnsufsgltlnstkypsk/15fnsufsgltlnstkypsk?&color=Teal/White

Kayak fish finder size
There's usually plenty of room on a fishing kayak so get whatever size you want. When it comes to displays I always prefer the biggest I can afford. I went with the 7" because it has GPS mapping, sonar and down scan so I can see all three on the screen at once. I usually always keep the sonar and down scan on side by side. If all you're going to using is sonar then you probably don't need to have anything bigger than 5" though.

Frustrated with other people fishing my pond!
I guess it's all personal opinion. I actually found the OP's post to be a bit rude as to how he's handling the situation and how he titled the thread. "Frustrated with others fishing my pond!" Seriously? When I read the title I thought it was a thread about people fishing his pond without permission, not other people fishing a private pond that he doesn't own. I kept thinking, where does a guy get off telling someone else how to run their pond? I completely understand his concerns though as I would want to keep that pond in pristine condition as well and wouldn't want others to ruin it. The fact remains that I would have zero right in telling the owner on how to manage his pond or tell him who can fish his pond. There are ways of having a friendly conversation about how the owner wants his pond to be and how to manage it, if he actually cares to. If he doesn't care though, you're SOL and you'll just have to put up with it or talk to the other fishermen. Regardless of any of that, I can't imagine that there are enough fish being taken out of a pond that size to affect it. It just doesn't seem realistic unless they are taking a lot of fish every day for months.

Spawn Tips
They either don't know what they're doing or they want to keep it the way it is so it's easy for all people to catch fish. It can be an advantage either way.

do i need more tackle?
As long as you have some type of top water bait. I find the top water bite to be best in the late Spring to early Fall. I always look for lily pads or other kind of vegetation on the top of the water, places where bass would be hiding underneath. That seems to be the best place to start but I've caught bass in open water as well.

Staging Catches for Fishing Shows
Unless it's a show for an actual fishing tournament the show will most likely not be 100% real. Many things if not the majority are staged. If they didn't then they'd have an incredibly boring show or they'd have so much time and money spent trying to get the best scenes. I have no issues with it because that's just the nature of TV. This is one of the reasons I prefer watching MFL tourneys because it feels like more real fishing and not always one big infomercial. My dad has his own film production company and has made commercials, movies and even made a pilot for a reality TV show. After seeing his promo video I realized how much those reality shows are scripted. It's far from reality but it's the only way to really make it entertaining.

Iowa bassing
I believe we are in pre-spawn right now and it seems more lures are working. A few weeks ago the best lure for me was a jerk bait but the temps were about 10 degrees cooler. Right now my favorite lure is the Strike King Red Eye Shad. I like to use the Orange Craw color. I've caught a few on a chatterbait, square bill crankbait and Rapala DT6. Last week I noticed they were biting on spinnerbaits more.

Don't forget a top water frog lure and a chatterbait.
