  1. (2) Lews Tournament MG....Middle of the road reels but very pleased with the overall performance & dailing them in was very easy!
  2. Jigs & Pigs....Chatterbaits with a trailer! All year long Stick with the Senko as well!
  3. Power Pro or Power Pro Super 8 Slick....15# or 20# = 4# mono & 6# mono....Little expensive but good line
  4. *** - Black *** - 7'1' or 7'3" M/H Fenwick - HMG - 7' M/H Good rods for exactly $100.00 ea + tax
  5. "Shakey Head" - Owner Ultrahead Finesse Ball Heads 1/8"oz to 3/16"oz with Strike King 3X Elaztech Finesse Worms. The buoyancy of these worms are incredible! 8# fluoro (spinning)....Great rig when the bite is tough!
  6. Sunline FC Sniper 8#....$20.00 - 200 yds
  7. Both are great baits! You can't go wrong with either but the chatterbaits is a little more weedless than the spinnerbaits! I usually throw some type of trailer on the chatterbaits (swimbaits) most of the time! Spinnerbaits "Trailer Hooks" a must at least for me! My opinion! You won't worry about the skirt slappers! Z-man Original Chatterbaits are very good but at BPS your limited to only hand full of colors & sizes! Where as Tackle Warehouse has 27 colors to choose from along with different makes, models, & sizes so you have a larger variety to choose from! As for spinnerbaits War Eagle, Strike King, & Booyah all make pretty good ones at a reasonable price. Here in Northwest Ohio....Depending on water clarity & cloud cover chartreuse/any color "dark" works well in stain water with single colorado blades or tandem with a willow blade for the western basin of Lake Erie. If your fishing more towards the North, Middle, & South bass islands the water is very clear you would want to use more natural colors like whites, silvers, & greens with tandem willows or indiana blades! More flash than thump-like you would get from the colorado blades! Just like crankbait selections! You can use them any time of the year but spring is a good time to use them to cover a lot of water! Hopefully this helps
  8. Top water #1....Crankbaits #2....Spinnerbaits #3 Like someone said earlier.... Quality "Sharp Hooks" Huge difference.....Ratio hookup will increase for sure! Gama,Owner,Mustad,VMC Moderate rod will help on the crankbaits! Slap on a trailer hook to your spinnerbaits & they won't be throwing it ever again
  9. 1 - Rapala 2 - Strike King (KVD series) 3 - Storm 4 - Jann's Netcraft
  10. Abu Garcia & Lew's both make great reels! I definitely give the edge to Lew's reels being an owner of 3...(BB1 & 2 Tournament MG) Once dialed in = trouble free! The bottom line is personal preference in all honesty!
  11. Jigs all year around! The only concern would be the current of the river. Would 3/8oz be heavy enough to structure fish? Unless your fishing points, holes, & eddies! 3/8oz jigs would work perfect with a trailer! You might have to bump up to 1/2oz to 3/4oz depending on the current! Good luck
  12. 5:4.1 for most crankbaits - 23 IPT & 6:4.1 for lipless - 28 IPT (Lew's Tournament MG) Most reel companies are + or - a few inches of each others ratios!
  13. I'm minority here as well with the fluorocarbon! Pretty much use it with all my setups (baitcasters & spinning). Minus topwater but I fine it amusing that braid users only use it for leaders! Everyone can tell you why they don't use fluorocarbon as a main line but yet it's on the end of the majority of the braid setups! Interesting I agree that some fluoro is expensive but with any fishing equipment....You pay for what you get!
  14. I have the exact reel as you do Minnow spooled with 8# Sunline FC Sniper fluoro on a 7'3" Black *** M/F...Like it alot
  15. I agree with John G....Sunline FC Sniper hands down! Spend the extra $5.00 for a good Fluorocarbon....$19.99 for 10# - 200 yards
  16. 6930 or 6935 is your best bet overall....Not to big or to small....I've seen combos with President reels with President rods (IM8) Medium for $79.99....Pretty decent setup for the price point!
  17. Gander Mtn....$20 Rebates Cabelas....30% of all Cabela's Rod....Tournament ZX $69.99 & XML $104.99 "Good Rods" Bass Pro Shop has some of their rods mark down $20 from the original cost!
  18. Pro Source Braid with Sunline FC Sniper fluorocarbon leader for most applications! Rods : Fenwick- HMG or Higher St.Croix- Premier or Mojo Fishing 13- Black ***- "My Favorite" I would recommend 6'6' to 7', Medium to Medium Heavy, Fast to X-fast tips All those rods are very good quality back-up with good warranties....$100-$150
  19. Sunline FC Sniper - Leader Pro Source - Braid Knot - 1st "Alberto" but make sure you definitely run the tag end through the same direction you came through! Like "Kicker" explained....A must ! 2nd "Double Uni" is a very good knot for leaders as well ! Great combo for most fishing applications !
