  1. That monkey attacks in waves good luck resisting.
  2. The Northwest part of the lake has never worked for me pre spawn in Northeast Nebraska. I always seem to try every spring after reading so many articles suggesting to go there. I dont know what the problem is the fish simply just arent in those regions in our lakes. I am better off fishing anywhere shallow with a steep drop off near by. It seems they are either on the steep flats or sitting right at the drops.
  3. It is always windy in Nebraska too. I would kill for a day that its blowing 10 to 5 mph all day. We always have to adjust to the wind the best baits I have found on these days are heavy jigs and lipless crankbaits when the wind is howling.
  4. Spinnerbaits are excellent whenever I bring a beginner out on the lake with me I tie one on for them. They are so simple and catch fish. Just this week my buddy caught the biggest bass of his life a 4 pounder on a spinnerbait I tied on for him. I love putting people who normally don't fish in a position to be successful with a spinnerbaits
  5. You only need a few colors green pumpkin, Watermelon, Junebug, and Blacks. Any of these can be enhanced with some color like watermelon red candy or green pumpkin with some flake. I base the rest on water clarity if the water is muddy with very little visibility I will stick to dark bulky baits that I can create vibration with. If the waters are clear I use my green pumpkin or watermelon and downsize some on the baits.
  6. I have had a ton of success this year with lipless crankbaits while the water is in the 50's. I just reel with a stop and go method and the bass kill it on the fall when I stop the reel. It works great at several depths. I fish it with 8 pound mono to try to get as much depth as quickly as possible while I stop the bait and it helps you to throw the bait much further. I personally like the red eye strike king lipless baits for their fast wobble on the fall.
  7. I have been a fan of Abu for a long time, but my budget for fishing has shrank tremendously. I am curious about Lew's reels I have read a lot of positive stuff about their products but am not a true believer yet. I have enjoyed my Abu products and am interested also in the new abu garcia s series bait cast. I am interested though if Lew's makes a better reel at a similar price point.
  8. Duckett Ghost are the best rods available for $99 dollars. They are amazingly light and sensitive and will be the only rod I am interested in purchasing in the future.
