I use an Abu Garcia Ike Delay casting rod for Jerkbait. I really enjoy it I have used a 6'4 inch version of this rod. I enjoy a shorter rod for jerkbaits. I can still cast a great enough distance with this rod. I also like the price point at $149.

For slow moving baits like a Texas rig it seems like you can break fluorocarbon easily on quick jerk hooksets. I had a tendency to break even invizx frequently upon hookset, even when using a line friendly knot like the San Diego Jam knot. I solved this problem by converting all my jigs and texas rig style baits to mono line leaders. Mono seems to take the quick set a bit better.

I run a fishing club at my local school. I am excited to take them all out to a lake soon. I know some of the members don't have anyone to typically take them out. It should be a really good time.

I personally won't buy anything related in anyway to the Googan Squad. They're no more fishing professionals than I am. I would much rather buy products specifically designed by professional fishermen who are not Youtube stars.

To install the transducer on my Ultrex will I need a 7 to 9 pin adapter? My dealer got one at the console, but I need to install the transducer at the bow yet.

The Tatula SV would be my vote. Extremely easy to skip baits with this reel. Casts like a dream, and I love the purple.

This issue ruined Shadow Raps for me. I bent all three trebles on pretty average fish. I haven't been impressed by Rapala's hooks.

Foggy's do catch them. I do have struggles keeping it low in the water column. I like fishing this bait with keitech on the back.

You're the man. I spent a long time last summer trying to figure out the right combinations. Would you think the sizes would change much with a Gama g finesse treble hook (Aaron Martens's hooks)? They aren't short shanks, but I've read great reviews. I just would hate to invest and have the wrong size.

Blue craw has green pumpkin with light blue. It’s an absolute killer. Strike king menace in blue craw is my personal favorite. Blue craw is overall probably my most productive color.

Phat frog from snagproof and spittin bully wa from river to sea. Those two frogs are the most effective for me. They walk with ease and are hardy frogs. I can't stand spro frogs filing up with water all of the time. Go with some phat frogs and keep it simple black and white.

Ike delay 6ft 4. Works great for shorter fellas like myself. Can still cast a mile with the crankbait action. Word of advice if you’re fishing shadow raps. Change hooks or check them often. I’ve bent out several on good fishing days. I don’t like changing hooks though and buy pointers or jackal rerange now.

Santa is setting me up for deep crankin. A kvd crankbait rod 7ft 10 model as well as the new Diawa Tatula 200 for that line capacity.

I learned first on a Tatula Sv. The reel made it so much easier. From there I branched out to other reels once I had my stroke down.

Always look for bait to help identify productive waters. Also always fish something unique or isolated from the rest of the lakes cover harder. Those spots tend to be productive.

In my neck of the woods I am the only one I've seen really just ripping a Jerkbait hard to elicit strikes. I watched a video on KVD just snapping the hell out of the line so I have done it pretty frequently with some great results. This past Saturday the fishing was slow for all of the other anglers on the water including my Dad who was on the boat with me. I just kept cracking that line like a maniac all morning and caught over 40 bass on a day others were leaving skunked. I watched a guy judging me from his boat like I was crazy then completely shift his opinion once he saw me land several fish doing. He started fishing his baits very erratically trying to get the same results.

With your crankbaits you're not adding an extra unnecessary ring though. You've experienced problems and adjusted. That makes sense I've just not had the same issue. I definitely view what you're doing differently then adding an extra snap swivel to the crankbaits original split ring.

My friend the monkey is strong. I bought a jerkbait rod the other day and couldn't help but add a few packages of new roboworm ned rig worms. It happens to the best of us, but I have started to actually write a list every off season of all the things I need for the upcoming year. Items that you should look into would be Jerkbaits, skirted jigs both vibrating and regular jigs, and some finesse jig heads for either shaky head worm or even the mushroom head for a ned rig.

I don't personally ever use snaps. I do know with some techniques it is known to be a potential benefit. The only time using a snap makes sense to me would be a jerkbait. Some say it helps Jerkbaits move to their full potential. I suggest you find a knot you can make very easily and leave the snaps at home. I am honestly a bit snobby about it. If I see a snap on your line I assume you aren't a great fisherman.
