Airborne Tungsten
I'd probably have a story but tungsten is too expensive. Eight or nine dollars for three weights is too much.

Astronaut Training
I hit myself with a buck spot once. When I was six I got my first fly rod. We use them for bream but pawpaw has a ten pounder on the wall he caught on his. Thirty minute fight that was. But anyway the day I got it I was facing the setting sun and didn't realize I had a bite and sent my first fish on it which was a six inch bass flying over my head.

Need Help On Fishing Strategies
id start wherever u launch. If there's a dock or ramp fish it with something like afluke before you even launch. I'd hit the downed trees and beaver dam with a weightless trick worm first (I'm partial to zoom bubblegum ones) and then a Texas rig craw or jig depending on your preference. I'd also use the Texas rig in the grass. The pads I would use a Texas rig and frog when the sun is highest. Over the flats I would use a jerkbait. I'm fond of the perch looking ones since I know the bass love perch on my lake so figure out what the bass eat there. I'd also run a shallow running square bill (I like bluegill patterns) around any creek mouths or other water that flows into the lake and along the downed trees. As for the deeper spotsjerkjerkbaits, deep diving cranks, rattletraps, drop shots, and Texas rigged flukes would be the techniques I would use depending on conditions. And if there are any eels in the water something like a magnum Lol' monster or other giant worm T rigged could be the ticket to a biggun. Also square bill on the flats.

id say when it gets a little warmer put on some trunks and just walk into it to find the depth.

Squarebill Crankbaits Confuse Me
I recently started using square bills and all the fish ive caught have either been at the mouth of a creek flowing into the main lake or even better on a long flat barren stretch of bank with a tiny little feeder that steeply puts a little water in after a rain. That spot is great. Caught 3 species of bass their at one time.

As for the pythons and other invasive species take em out. Armadillos are the reason the quail population has been nearly wiped out in Ga. Im lucky if I see one a year.- Snakes Climb In The Boat
Another time when my aunt was a teenager she was sun bathing on the dock when she heard hollerin from across the slew. She looked up and the neighbor was jumping up and down pointing at the corner of the dock. When she looked there was a 4 ft moccasin halfway on the dock. By the time she got to the house and got pawpaw and came back he was all the way on the dock. I don't believe the snakes are trying to get us but I know they have the ability to climb boats, docks, and even the glass of their aquariums in captivity. My rule for harmless snakes is they can be curious all they want as long as I don't have to take a swim because someone freaks out. As for venomous ones I give em a wide birth when I can. Like the Gadsden tattoo on my arm says don't tread on me. But that's a 2 way street. I like snakes and prefer to avoid harming them just like I don't want them harming me. Im just trying to find video proof that a moccasin will climb in the boat. Bass fishing brings me more contact with snakes than anything else and that's fine. Its worth it- Snakes Climb In The Boat
not sure. The worm wasn't skin hooked but buried in the middle. Just tapped it.- Snakes Climb In The Boat
Here's the deal. I've been fishing all my life same as the rest of my family. I was talking to a herpetologist who hangs out at a local book store and he doesnt believe me that a snake especially a water moccasin will climb in the boat when your fishing. It happened to pawpaw twice decades ago. I've personally had a water snake try it when fishing flooded grass 10 years ago on the fourth of july. I tried to outrun him with my troller motor but butterflies routinely pass me so that didn't work and a girl in the boat was freaking and nearly tipped us so I tapped it with my weedless worm. Somehow I hooked it and the paddle had to be used. Anyone have any video of a snake especially a moccasin climbing into the boat while fishing?- Flukes
I like it weightless with a foot long leader on swivel to prevent line twist and a 3/0 or 4/0 ewg hook. I really like the strike king caffiene shad because it the best of a fluke and trick worm. Awesome action in the water and the heavy salt content lets it casts a country a mile and sinks at just the right speed. It caught me a lot of fish this past fall during the feed up.- Hello From Columbus, Ga
Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Glad to be here.- Hello From Columbus, Ga
How y'all doing? My name is David and I learned about this site from watching videos on YouTube. I've been fishing all my life and bass fishing is definitely my favorite hobby. I tend to get cranky if I can't go at least once a week. I prefer to fish from my boat (a Handler a little older than me with a Johnson 28 SPL on the back and a old minn kota front) buI also do a fair bit of bank beating. Ticks are the bane of my existence. My favorite lake is Goat Rock on the Chattahoochee. Caught my first fish there beforeI could walk. I also fish for food. Primarily catfish, crappie, and bream but in recent years the spots have made a big push to take over my lake from the large mouth and I've declared war so the spots are meeting the fryer too. My favorite lure for years has been a bubblegum zoom trick worm fished weightless. I really love to sight fish it. Recently i was laid off when my store shut down so fishing is a good way to relax whenI'm not job hunting and it also puts food on the table. I guess is a long enough intro but if anyone wants to know more feel free to ask.- southernson1989
