  1. And for the record i guess i knew what it was and fish them alot but never heard it called a ned rig before...
  2. Hands down....jig! But i would have to say chatterbaits and lipless cranks are very versatile also, all three can be fished with numerous presentations. And to be clear i mean a round leadhead with a grub for a jig...
  3. Thanks IABASS...
  4. Why google it? Is this forum not for asking questions?
  5. I keep seeing threads about NED rigs, what is a ned rig???
  6. Im not so sure that heat effects lina as much as sunlight. If you change your line every year or whenever your spool gets low i wouldnt worry about it....i also would not leave rods and reels in your trunk to get banged around...makes me cringe thinkin about it but i have an issue about keeping my rods and reels looking new but thats just me...
  7. Right on, i knew how to put them together. I built my own deal that rotates the rod when you finish your wraps and guides, i have an idea on how to make a "lathe".....
  8. Whoops... so you just buy rhe rings and sand them?? Thats how i thought about doing it.
  9. Do you neex a lathe to do the custom cork grip? Ive built a few rods and always wanted ro buy the cork peices and make a nice handle...
  10. I also use CXX and like it, im from chamberlain and miss the big bend area alot!! Miss those smallies!!! Nice avatar!!( been a husker fan my whole life! gparents are from omaha...
  11. Ok ive seen that before but the term turned grip was not used... thanks guys
  12. Play around with search words with google, bing etc...
  13. Could you explain "custom turned grip"??
  14. Hard to say, i would price the components, blank, reel seat, handle, guides etc..then add 100-150 bucks.....
  15. I use a blade on jigs when i swim them alot and catch fish but never seen anyone use it on a spinnerbait, im gonna try and see wjat happens, just teyin to think outside the box..
  16. Has anyone ever used a willow leaf etc...blade for a trailer on a spinnerbait? I fish a lot of water that is very stained at best and thats after ice out, was thinking the xtra flash and thump may catch more fish???? Any thoughts?
  17. x2 on the reel foot, i do have one rod it wont fit in the seat unless i wanted to file it down just a tad wich the thought of doing so makes me cringe...ha ha ha
  18. I agree...except for the high modulus, ive heard alot that higher does not mean better but whatever gives ya confidence, im all for that regardless...
  19. Not sure about the extra money being worth it for the shimano but first off do not pay retail, both can be had cheaper if you search the net. Never used a shimano but i will say the tourney lite is an awesome reel, just got 2 of them and i am really impressed. That being said all my other reels cost about 90 bucks and under so they are my first 150-200 dollar reels so i cant compare them to anything.. not sure what price reels you are used to but i think the lews are very nice...
  20. not sure on weight but i guessed 7 maybe a lil more...hit a half ounce cordell in bleeding shad.
  21. Thats kinda like only carrying just a screwdriver and pliers in your toolbox, what happens when they wont bite a jig or soft plastic?? Ive got stuff i dont use much always have one tied on or in my box...
  22. 1/4 ounce lead jighead with a white grub, caught more different fish on this than anything... nothing comes even close.they will catch anything and work almost all the time...
