  1. I'll use 7/0 on most 10" worms
  2. Welcome to the site! I would say that you got a good start on bass fishing. The only thing i'm concerned about with that size of plastics is that your hooks may be a hair small. If you're having trouble getting good hooksets, try upsizing your hooks. I usually use 4/0 for 6" and 7" worms. Good Luck!!! Jason
  3. oh yeah, don't mind the sunglasses...ha ha...they're the only polarized pair i have for now...ha ha
  4. i like a overcast windy day. With the chop on the water, the bass will be able to ambush easier, as the cloud cover and choppy surface will allow them to get closer to their prey. Jason
  5. congrats on your PB!!!!! 8-) Jason
  6. guess i don't understand what you mean by rig them up. I see a line tie on the front, and it's got a treble on the belly. I would assume you just chunk and wind??? Jason
  7. Well, took the wife out today for the first time since she had our daughter almost 4 weeks ago. She was dieing to get out on the water. Launched the boat on the farm pond about 11:30. Caught this decent bass about 12:00 on a 1/2oz Chartreuse Spinnerbait. 2lbs - 14oz We went to shore about 12:30 because the wind was blowing us around like crazy and was a little unsafe in the little jon boat, so we had some sandwiches and fished from shore for a while. Wife caught her first fish of the year on a 3/16 Chartreuse Spinnerbait. The biggest Crappie i've ever seen come out of this pond. She also caught 2 small bass, about 8". No pics of those. The wind was getting out of control so we packed it up. Not bad for just a couple hours at the farm pond, and sooooo glad to get my wife out of the house to go fishing. She had a blast! Jason
  8. Nice bag! I have the same one, weighs 37lbs last time i checked. Jason

I like him a lot! He's definitely one of my favorite anglers. Sure he has his bad times, as we all do, but i agree sometimes he takes it too far. I don't mind the yelling about every fish, cause i do the same! 8-) He's excited, as a guy should be. He's making a living having fun. Jason
  10. Man, i would say white spinnerbait with silver double willow blades, but everybody is probably throwing that. You might try a bluegill colored or shad colored (Silver with black) and give them something different to look at. I would choose weight depending on depth. Jason
  11. Awesome bass!!! Way to go! 8-) Jason
  12. Well, headed to the farm pond for only the second time this year, first time was last week. Only managed 1 dink last weekend. Today was very high winds, 30+ mph, so i left the boat at home and just fished from the bank. Went about 2 hours with nothing, not even a tug. Was throwing cranks and jerkbaits. Water is still about 55-60 degrees. I finally worked my way around to the East side of the pond and thought, what the heck, i'll throw a spinnerbait. First cast, WHAM, this baby loads up the rod. 3lbs - 2oz Threw the spinnerbait for a while longer with no other takers. Decided to work around to a point where there is a lot of submerged timber from an old beaver hut. I rigged up with a Chompers Brush Jig head with a 3" Black/Blue Yum Wooly Hawgtail, and pitched it in and around the cover. I had a hit, set the hook, and she took off, ended up wrapping me around a limb and i lost her. Continued to pitch in there for a while longer. Felt a tap tap. I reeled up the slack, lifted a little, felt pressure, so i drove the hook home. Off she went again, but this time i horsed her up, not letting her wrap me around another limb. This is my new personal best and the biggest i've heard of coming out of the farm pond. I'm Stoked!!! 4lbs - 9oz Jason
  13. I know no specifics, but as with you, i don't really care a whole lot about what's going on above the water as in talking, screaming, what have you. But, i try very hard to keep from banging the bottom of the boat, dropping things, etc. Jason
  14. Right here! Been in the residential construction business for the last 6 years. Jason
  15. Holy Amazing Paintjob!!! :) Jason
  16. Wow Daniel, that's a hog! Jason

  19. Yes Please!!! Jason
  20. I throw a lot of buzzbaits, soft plastic frogs, walking baits and pop-r types, but i absolutely love a Jitterbug! Frog pattern during the morning and evening, and black at night. Jason
  21. Went out for about 4 hours this afternoon. First nice day we've had in a while, sunny and 65. Caught 1 dink on a Red Craw Mann's Baby 1-. Was nice to just catch something. Jason
  22. "The Wieners" Dexter on left, Roxie on right
  23. i like to use them for pitching into heavy cover because the wings just flap like crazy. going to try them on a c-rig this year too, and possible weightless around weed beds. Jason
  24. I like the Booyah 1/4oz jig with a matching 3" YUM Wooly Hawgtail. Jason
