  4. Hey guys, wondering what type of jighead you like for heavy, heavy timber. I'm talking sticks and limbs laying all over each other on the bottom. What i was using was just getting wedged in between the limbs and i lost quite a few. Thanks. Jason
  5. a lot of guys use a ball head jig, or stand up type jig head that has a spring like looking thing attached to the jig head right above the hook. You screw a small, 3" - 5" bait onto the spring, usually a small finesse worm, and embed the hook into it. you cast to a target, let it sink, and basically shake the rod tip. this causes the worm to shake it's tail seductively without moving much, if at all. Jason Here's a couple examples of the jigheads http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_89998_100010006_100000000_100010000_100-10-6 http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_89935_100010006_100000000_100010000_100-10-6
  6. I too am at fault of calling soft plastic toads topwaters, for the same reason as above, in that "I" only use them as topwaters. That is definitely not the case. I will be trying some more techniques with them. Jason
  7. to make a hollow body frog "walk" cut the tails down a little, then cut one of them 1/2" shorter than the other. The difference in drag created on the tails will make it "walk". Jason
  8. if there is a good amount of wind, i'll throw the buzzbait first. If the wind dies a little, so there is just a little ripple on the surface, i'll usually throw a jitterbug or a skitter walk. if it's dead calm, i like a spit'n king or a Rapala original minnow twitched on the surface. Jason
  9. I think he's using those top water spinnerbaits. Or, at least, I think that's what they are called. If you're referring to the 3 wire baits that are at the top of your picture, they are called "Buzzbaits" Jason
  10. if you want to stay under $100...i'd go with another Symetre. Love mine. For a little more you can upgrade to the Stradic. Jason
  11. white rouge on a buffing wheel. Jason
  12. Since i have a new baby in the house, i don't get out much. Usually every Saturday though, the wife lets me go. I'll stay anywhere from 4 hours to 12 hours, depending on conditions and if i have other stuff to get done that day. Jason

    Wow!! Beautiful Bass!! 8-) Jason
  17. I kiss anything over a dink :-*
  18. Don't put it on the bottom (outside)!!! I did this, and the drag created is bad. When only using a trolling motor, it takes me quite a while to get where i'm going. You want your bottom to be slick, like glass, to help it slide over the water. I now have to sand all mine off and redo it. If you're going to use truck bed liner, do it on the inside only. It will help to defend off water, but your best bet would be to have the leaks fixed right. Jason
  19. I also use the Yo Zuri Ultra Soft, and i use the palomar knot 100% of the time. Never ever have a problem of line breaking anywhere, let alone at the knot. Jason
  20. Caught this long, but skinny 3lb'er by pulling a junebug yum dinger along the top of the slop you can see there in the background and letting it drop into holes. Didn't even feel it pick it up. Was just kinda there. and caught this dink slooooowly swimming a weightless lizard. You can see the 5" of rain we had last weekend made for super muddy water. 2" visibility. Jason
  21. Love the Mann's Baby 1-, but also really like the Bomber Square A. Jason
  22. i would also say 4 1/2 to 5 pounds. Great fish! Jason
  23. here's his website... http://www.mattlures.com/products.htm EDIT: I'm too slow
  24. What kind of shape is your baitcast reel in? Fairly new or worn some? When was the last time it was cleaned and oiled? What kind of line are you using? Size of line? All of these are factors in casting distance with light weight lures. Jason
