  1. Welcome to the forum. I mainly fish the Assunpink lakes and pond hop with google maps. All dinks so far!
  2. I think something like total length of however many you catch. I have seen tournaments where you photograph the fish on one of those measuring boards with a sticker attached with the event name on it. BTW I'm coming from like 150 miles, C'mon you can do it! what kind of camper is it? its really cool. I like single axle smaller campers instead of those giant 5th wheel jobs. After all isn't the idea to be outside?
  3. Your truck/camper set up is sweet BTW
  4. I just started a new thread under The Bass boat forum. its called Bass Raider Meet Up. We are trying to get a mini bass boat meet up and fun tournament together in York Pa this May. If interested swing by the thread and post!
  5. 68Dave and I are trying to get a Pelican Bass Raider/Plastic Bass Boat Meet Up/ fun Tournament going. We chose Lake Redman in York PA as the site and Sunday May 22 as the date. Show off your mods and Bass skills! If you all want to throw in $20 for a winner take all contest, I'm good with that. Lake Redman is a designated Big Bass lake by the state of Pennsylvania. All makes of plastic, electric powered mini bass boats are welcome.
  6. The rod holder is mainly for transport. I'll lay them down in front of me while fishing. I devised a rope and hook to hold the boat in place for when I bring the boat up onto the tailgate so it doesn't roll backwards while I get behind it to lift it up. I'll post a pic if it works. The worst part of using the truck bed, is the various inclines you find near the water at different lakes. At some lakes the tailgate is 2 ft higher then it is in my flat driveway. Sometimes its just easier to face the lake with the cab and walk the boat around to the back for loading. I definitely want a GD trailer..lol
  7. I have the 10' and hauled it by myself in my truck bed all last season. It was ok, but you'll have to make a dolly to roll it down to the water. Even if you're only moving it 10 feet or so, you want to avoid scraping it up. The only reason I want a trailer is so I would be able to hit 2 lakes in a day. I can't do that with this set up. I not doing two launches and two load ins from the back of the truck, no way. I'm looking for a jet ski trailer right now. They seem a little hard to come by, because most have the d**n jet ski with it
  8. My last mod for a while. Rod holder/anchor basket. Now I just need the weather to cooperate with my sced, next Saturday is looking good. I have been just bank fishing for the last few weeks
  9. Dick's always has a boating sale in the spring, I got $100 off mine during the sale, and they gave me another 10% off for opening a Dicks credit card. I believe that this sale was late April/early May
  10. They get good reviews, if the hull is in good shape go for it. I know they have dry wells for valuables, so that's a plus. here's a review
  11. The Endura Max is great because your battery will last you a good 6-7 hour session with no problem. It's worth the extra 50 or 60 bucks for the Endura. I have the 45lb. I cruise with the motor on the back with no control issues whatsoever. A rudder is one less thing I need to drag along with me. I plan on picking up the Minnkota tiller extension so I can fish right in the middle of the boat and have a ton of room to stretch. Front or back mount? To each his own, I guess. From my experience and what I read here you are good either way.
  12. If I didn't have a problem registering the Pelican in NJ, no one should. (notorious ball busting state) The rudder thing is up to you, I have had no trouble with the motor on the back, it tracks well. I watch the wind on the forecast, but I have had no issues in 12 to 15 mph winds. I still want to make a rudder to use on a no motor lakes and try a kayak paddle. When my boat was new I was terrified to put a hole in it. I'm over it now. The plastic is thick on the top rail and by using the Tri Grip rivets from Yak gear to attach accessories, I have no fears at all that those things will pull out. It might even be overkill. I used marine sealant on them just to be sure they ended up water tight. My next project will be a shallow water anchor system but that's on hold because I need stuff for my truck right now. I definitely want to do the Lake Redman thing. A Sunday would be best for me. I work nights so getting up at 3 on a Sat to be at Redman by 7 would be too much ( I get home at 1am). I plan on going out there Sat afternoon for fishing Sunday Morning. Mid May? Spawn should be in full swing, right?. We would also need to set a rain date.
  13. How do you like my bait/utility table? Probably only gonna use it on solo fishing trips. I noticed that, yeah, pretty cool. You could mount a fish finder on that table as well
  14. NICE! I did more or less the same thing but yours looks more professional.
  15. yeah, let's see it! How did that punk manage to destroy a boat in one outing? lol
  16. Get the 10 footer or you might end up buying twice. I'm a big guy. 6'3" 250 and I thought the 8' was too small for me and I go by myself 95% of the time. Just my 2 cents
  17. The tough part about south jersey is finding ponds that aren't pickerel only. I mostly fish the 3 lakes at Assunpink and Colliers Mills
  18. Man, really looks great! That Cellblock is a nice idea, very clean no wires. I think I'm mounting my new Helix5 SI- FF to a small ram mount and using the front right rod holder for a removable mounting system, since I fish from the front most of the time. The floor is my next upgrade, Yours looks really good. Have any measurements I can start with? What thickness board did you use? Did it make the boat noticeably heavier, I load mine to the back of my truck so weight is always a concern. I used 1/2 ply total length is 103" X 20 1/2" and I cut the length in half so it's easy to take in an out. No its not much heavier. I use my truck bed too. I just bought a new Ram 4x4 which is 5 1/2 " higher then my old 98' Ram 2x4. That will make getting it in the back that much harder. I am by myself 95% of the time. I starting to think about keeping the 98' as my fishing truck. Its still runs great, it just looks like hell and has no AC. There's a lot to say about having a truck you don't give 2 hoots about scratching, getting hit by rock and gravel, or washing. My wife says the insurance is cheap, so why not keep it? Right?
  19. Nice weather on the east coast so I finished up some mods. Lowrance Elite 4 Chirp mounted on a Yakattack cellblok, carpeted floor, New Mossy Oak seat by Tempress Seating. Yakattack and the Tempress seat are made in the USA
  20. Check out Lake Redman in York Pa. That's pretty central to us, 290 acres. Looks good to me. http://traveltips.usatoday.com/fishing-seasons-lake-redman-pennsylvania-29898.html
  21. I'm interested in doing that. I am in NJ Looks great! Available at Bass Pro , I guess?
  22. I plan on giving the double paddle thing a try this spring. We have a very nice lake near us that is a "no electric" lake. I will have to fashion a rudder though
