  1. Yes it's big enough for 2 but use discretion on what you bring with you. The floor fills up fast with stuff and I am alone 90% of the time. I'm going to put some time and effort into modifying the boat to keep stuff off the floor. The rod storage kind of sucks. I'm not crazy about resting my rods unsecured on top of the pontoons 2" inches from going over the side. For a motor I have a 45 lb Endura Max by Minnkota. It's a great motor and never even comes close to killing the 24 group battery. I go out from 5 to 7 hrs. If I could do it again I would go for the 55 lb and a little bigger battery but It's not really an issue. I'm very happy with my set up
  2. I was going to head down to PBS this coming Saturday for the trade in deal. I need a good drop shot reel to go with my st croix drop shot rod. I noticed in small print "select reels". So does that mean BPS reels or can you get other brands as well? I mostly go to bps for the clothes (I really like the Redhead brand) and I'll just pick up some random tackle while I'm there. I seem to buy more tackle at Dicks.
  3. I bought mine at Dick's last spring. It was in stock but not on display. They have a spring boating sale in April. I got $100 off plus another 10% off for opening a credit card. The next month I got a $20 credit from their rewards program. Free tackle! If you can wait for that sale, it's a good deal.
  4. Did you notice how thick the plastic is? Just approximately. I need 1/4 inch for the rivets to hold the geartrac. So that would be the thickness of the geartrac plus the thickness of the plastic combined. I might need a aluminium plate to act as a spacer if the plastic is too thin. just curious
  5. I'm using geartrac by Yakattack to mount my fish finder and rod holders. The model that bought was GTTL175-12 I plan on installing these with rivits. They are made for kayaks but I think it they should translate well to The PBR
  6. Yeah, my mind is made up on the Mojo. I was going to try to sneak in a drop shot rod with my gift cards but I'm going to let that wait for now.
  7. I noticed that BPS doesn't really have sales as well. Only their branded products go on sale as mentioned above. I'm in the market for a new rod to go with my new Lews BB1 pro. I have about $150 in gift cards burning a hole in my pocket. So I'am heading to the Atlantic City location this Sunday. How is the carbonlite rod series? They are on sale for $99.99 this week. Its either those or St Croix Mojo Bass for $120. Do they even compare? How about their lures? In my experience, cheap lures don't catch fish.
  8. I was going to ask about rivits. Thanks, I'l look into it
  9. by mollys, I meant those anchors you put in drywall to hold up a shelf or something with out hitting a stud. its very much the way you describe it except you leave the screws in.
  10. I'll be doing some mods to my BR during the of season. Ill be using various mounts to hold a paddle, fishfinder, shallow water anchor etc. Should I use mollys and sealant or is the boat's plastic thick enough to hold on to the screw?
  11. Swimming River Res is the best near you but you have to know someone that lives on the lake. Its trespassing to fish there. I don't know how strict they are about it. I know there is access by Brookdale College. I'm close to Toms River
  12. A road runs along the east side of the pond. So that side has access, I am just not sure if the public can use it or not. The rest of it lies on private property. If you type Port Republic in google maps you'll see it
  13. Thanks FD. The house we looked at was on the pond itself. 3 acres, lots of shoreline with a huge deck overlooking the pond. Really cool
  14. google maps just says Mill Pond. I think its the only fresh water pond in that town. its off main st which is rt 575 the dam is on Mill rd. I just mapped Davis Mill Pond and its nowhere near the Mill Pond I'm referring to.
  15. WOW! FD, I was wondering if you know a place called Mill Pond? Its in Port Republic, it has a dam that feeds into the Mullica River. A couple of hundred acres I guess. Like the size of Rising Sun near Assunpink. There are a lot of cedar trees around but the water looks nice and clear, not like tea. Do you know if there are bass in it? I'm looking at houses down that way.
  16. Yes to all of the above. Would like to have it when downsizing my baits seems like a good idea
  17. Any favorites, suggestions or experience with rods casting 1/8 oz and up? Under $200. I want to put together a nice combo.I already have a Lew's BB1 pro for the reel.
  18. Sounds good, I'll try it
  19. I bought the blueberry 40pk from Outlet B&T and unfortunately, they don't have that sweet candy smell I remember as a kid. The blueberry color is very light. If you hold the bait up to a light its almost clear. I think I'll be using them for trailers. I'll give a bunch of them to my nephews and they'll think they're the coolest things ever. I did get a bunch of great stuff out of that sale and the shipping was fast. I will buy there again for sure.
  20. I put 30 lb braid on my new Lew's combo and use a 20 lb floro leader. I'm debating on putting just floro on the BB1 I plan on using the new one for cranks and top water so it would be nice to avoid using a leader altogether. I have about 5 months to make up my mind lol
  21. I have the Lew's Carbon Blue combo (bought it in Sept) and I believe its the same rod and reel as the AH. .It's my first jump into baitcasting. I love the thing. I watched a few youtube vids on how to set up and cast, 2 weeks later I could throw the thing further then my spin gear. I can cast with pretty good accuracy baits as low as 3/8th ( a hook and a 5" senko) I still make mistakes time to time but all in all, thumbs up! I just went and sold some spinning gear and ordered a Lew's BB1 Pro. I haven't decided on a rod yet. So the combo your talking about sold a newbie on the whole baitcast concept. For me it was well worth the money and will use it every trip next season. I like as a dedicated senko/worm set up.
  22. Thanks, I was going to pick up a push pole as well. I know a few "fields" of lily pads I would love to get in the middle of.
  23. I was wondering if anyone has tried using the BR yak style? I have a couple of places where I would like to try it. I have a very weedy, shallow lake with tons of weeds and stumps making using the motor a major pain in the ass. Tons of bass in there and the place gets almost no pressure, I picked up 8 or 10 in a couple of hours there one day, then the weeds got so bad you could barely travel more the 30 ft before stopping and clearing the prop. So I gave up on it. There is also another lake near me where no electric motors are permitted and it is huge lake by NJ standards, again not pressured by bass guys. I looked at a couple of yak double paddles and I think I would have to lengthen it some since we sit higher than yak guys and add a rudder to the boat. Has anyone tried this?
