Went with 8-17,reminds me of a bass rod very light and sensitive, enjoy your trip!

I'm gonna be redfish,snook and trout fishing inshore,throwing Berkley gulp shrimp,DOA Cal shad on jig heads around Punta Gorda area in Florida on Charlotte harbor,I ended up getting that star Stellar just felt right.

It's possible,I had a couple of holes I just had repaired.

I noticed at lox they got a new pump on west side which was never there and pumping water into lox, god only knows why, can't be good for the preserve

So true just don't want to hurt anybody's feelings,Its old and VERY heavy boat and that extra weight im sure puts a big strain on the motor when I fish by myself it's not an issue I weigh 180 and it's only 15ft boat but she's a tank.

It's sad, I got a feeling Loxahatchee is next

The more and more I read it really seems like these guys at Water management are really destroying alot of lakes and water systems in Florida,but you don't hear anything on the news about it. Is there anything we can do as law abiding citzens and tax payers?It's a shame what they are doing,I'm sure it's politically driven by money.

I was wondering if there is any Star Stellar Lite owners here?I was shopping the other day for a inshore rod I was set on buying a redbone which felt like a nice rod, but next to it was a star Stellar Lite I really like how it felt in my hand better than redbone and paired with my Penn battle 2 4000 series,just curious what you star Stellar Lite owners think of them.Thanks!

If I was you go to clewiston and go thru Roland Martin marina probably your best bet.

Great idea thanks, personally I think that motor is under powered for the weight of the boat,it's my first boat it has been a great learning experience and has made me a better fishermen by owning a boat,plan on buying a new boat in two years so at least now I got some experience and getting an idea what I want in a boat and gaining alot of knowledge of boat maintenance,it's been a great boat to learn on. I totally agree with you when I was really heavy it created a whole bunch of health issues that put me in the hospital for 3 months and almost killed me,I took the weight of from better diet and exercise and I'm probably in best shape of my life and off of all those medications.Thanks for the advice.

Thanks guys,he such a nice guy and good friend hate to hurt his feelings by asking him to go up front,I dont even know what the weight capacity is for that boat it's so old info just isn't out there but shes a heavy girl but gives a really nice ride ,they made things differently back than built to last along time.

This is a tough one I feel terrible about it cause I was real heavy at one time but I got an old 15'9" fiberglass,1978 Fiberking Bomber bass boat with a 70hp Johnson and it's a heavy boat as it is ,I take different friends out on it and I have no problem getting plane, but this one friend I got he is pretty heavy and I have a hard time getting plane when he's sitting in back of the boat, but when he moves to front I get plane no problem, at first I thought it was motor issue but had other friends on boat that are lighter and no issue.Any advice?Don't want to hurt the guys feelings by telling him to sit in front til I get plane

I hear ya,but it's nice having new ,I haven't had a ton of problems with mine but rather not deal with it,glad I got a good friend that enjoys working on boats and he makes money doing it lol

I'm going new on my next boat might not have all bells and whistles but it will be new, warranty and I'll know the maintenance being done on it and storing in a garage.

People sell for alot of different reasons gotta be real carfeful or you could be be buying someone else's problems.

They exchanged it out for me at no charge but I'm keeping a close eye on it,I won't buy another one though.

Thanks guys for all great info I went ahead and ordered a hurricane redbone inshore rod 7'med action for my Penn battle 2 /4000 series didn't like the rod that came with battle 2 plus got a great price on rod almost 50% it's normal price

Thanks guys so I need a fluoracarbon leader because the will see the 30lb braid?Hope that's not a dumb question lol PS- use a swivel or line to line on the leader?

I'm gonna be going to Punta Gorda ,Fl area in next couple of weeks I read that area is known for redfish,snook and sea trout.I bought the Penn battle 2 combo 4000 series,I have 30lb power pro braid on it,I have limited saltwear tackle,what would you recommend to use and do I still need a leader on it seeing I put on 30lb power pro braid? Thanks!!!

Going on my second week without my boat it's getting some fiberglass work done on it ,I'm going crazy not being able to be out on the water fishing.How do other people live with out being on water fishing???

I had the same problem with my Everstart the terminal post melted off.

Frog is exciting,butttt nothing like sitting down in chair on my boat with Texas rigged bait and a knot of Copenhagen in my jaw, to me that's bass fishing
