I went ahead and sent it back just wasn't feeling it,I went ahead and ordered the Fuego CT just came in put some braid on it put it on my Dobyns fury rod feels reel comfortable,it's alot more compact than my tatulas ,looking forward to using it this weekend ?

Sounds like a nice setup!I been on a major topwater addiction lately so that speed demon is coming in handy and with such a high gear ratio you don't have to work so hard to get the bait moving,it's a nice reel for the money is it better than my daiwa tatula CT's ,no,but I needed a higher speed reel and wanted to try kastking,no regrets,would I buy another one?Maybe we will see how much she can handle ?

If your gonna be in Ft Myers forget the bass ,go inshore saltwater fishing,I just got back from punta Gorda caught some snook it's just like bass fishing get yourself some Berkley gulp shrimp on weighted swimbait bait hook and your good to go!

Went out fishing today caught alot on the speed demon,put mono backing than braid, problem solved,no issues at all.Thanks guys!!

Haven't tried tip toad yet,but I do good on Stanley ribbit with keel weighted1/8 oz, 5/0 swimbait hook ,skin hooked.Seems with with weighted swimbait hook causes more of a wake and I get more bites that way instead of weightless for some reason.

It tripped me out I'm cranking my reel and it's not gathering line,I'm gonna try what JFranco said and put mono backing I think I put the braid on wrong I put a piece of tape on spool than put braid on it could be the line slipping so it might not be reel it might be the way I put the braid.

Well I took the speed demon out today and I caught quite a few fish on it,what I like about it was it casted great,smooth,fast.BUT what I didn't like about it was the drag system it says it's 13lb drag system and I was catching 2-3 lb fish on it and was having hard time reeling it in.Improve on drag system and you got a nice reel

I just received my kastking speed demon and my initial thoughts are this,they are inexpensive reels that seem to be good quality,with features of higher end reels,now the big question is long term durability,time will tell. Side note I think durability can be subjective if you are on the water alot through out the year, catching alot of fish on the reel and fishing harsh conditions muddy water,heavy vegation vs not being on the water alot through out the year,not catching alot of fish, fishing in clear open water just a thought to consider.

The problem I had with was I need a higher gear ratio than 6.8.1 to pull them out of the south Florida slop so they wouldn't get all wrapped up in it,I lost a really nice fish this past weekend in the Lily pads I couldn't get the line up fast enough to get him from wrapping up in the pads and he came off the hook, that's why i decided to to get a reel with a higher gear ratio to avoid that in the future and wanted to try kastking to see what all the talk was about.If I like it I'll keep it if not try something else I'm not rich by any means and i do work very hard for my money but we are only talking about $70, My wife cost me $90 last weekend for dinner and drinks so I guess that kinda puts things in prespective,but I won't spend no more than $100 on a rod or reel. PS I had a bps pro qualifier before and like it alot better than bps pro qualifier 2. Awesome!!!! I'm going kayak fishing this weekend in Punta Gorda Florida for snook and redfish pretty stoked about that looks like alot of fun.

I was using 6.8.1 and 7.1.1 so I'm looking forward to 9.3.1.That yum tip toad looks awesome

I'm looking forward to trying it out , IAM pairing it up with my Dobyns fury,I was using a Lew's carbon blue speed stick combo as my toad rod n reel,than I tried my bass pro shop pro qualifier 2 6.8.1 with Dobyns fury just wasn't fast enough to work the bait properly or pull them out of the vegation fast enough,so I'm sure the speed demon and Dobyns will be noticeable difference.

I went ahead and ordered the speed demon should have it tomorrow,gonna try it out Friday morning

Thanks guys!!! I've heard so much about kastking think I'm gonna give it a shot and decide for myself what I think of it,if I don't like it I'll send it back.

I fish areas in South Florida that I am surrounded by them they are very athletic you have to be very careful, people that feed them should be heavily fined and put in jail I've seen them leap out of the water the length that they are,they can reach speeds of 30 mph,very strong and powerful animal,I had one swimming right at my boat very agressively this morning, I stood up and made myself look bigger holding my arms out and on my tippy toes,he backed down but I always carry when I'm out there you never know.

I was thinking of upgrading my toad reel I'm considering the kastking speed demon or Dawia Fuego CT,what would you do?It's only $20 difference between the two.Thanks guys!

I live in South Florida been here 45 years and work outside so it doesn't bother me when I'm fishing, if you aren't use to it I could see how it could effect someone.

Wife is different we have the same checking account lol My wife said to me if he ask just say no get your own stuff lol What's really crazy is he doesn't even bring rain gear we our in South Florida,but if we ever got stuck out there overnight 2 bottles if water he brings and no rain gear makes for a long night in the Everglades... I bring more than I need food,water,bug spray etc just in case

It's one thing borrowing and another supporting ,think I'm gonna go solo bring my seven rods ,two tackle bags sandwiches,drinks and Copenhagen and enjoy mother nature.Thanks guys!

I realized by posting this topic what's going on I'm allowing it ,it's not enjoyable to me,go back to fishing by myself and wife.

Forgot to mention he also eats my snacks and drinks.I think I realized thru your comment he's really not a good fishing partner maybe a good friend but not a good fishing partner,I'll take my wife out and other times go by myself.
