  1. Those look really nice. My wife would literally kill me if I bought them LOL.
  2. Good enough. Thank you very much for the info!
  3. Could the padlock be cut or picked easily?
  4. Thanks. That is reassuring. I probably would not have it locked while in my garage. How is the lock r bar removed by the owner, key, electronically, etc?
  5. I was out on the lake yesterday, and I noticed that I had a stress fracture around 3/4 of the shaft where the two-piece paddles connect. Of course this was just a few hours in the trip. My buddy got a couple of sticks as splints and we jammed a similar sized stick inside the tube for added support. The paddle is actually stronger than it was before, however, I believe it's time for a replacement (see picture.) I need some recommendations for a new paddle. My yak is 36" wide and I'm always in the raised seat position of my predator MX. Here are a few paddles that I liked on amazon with various price points. Please let me know if you have experience with any of them and tell me your thoughts. If you have a paddle that you think is better, tell me why. https://www.amazon.com/Carlisle-Predator-Fiberglass-Kayak-Paddle/dp/B017AM92ZY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1503662222&sr=8-1&keywords=250%2Bcm%2Bpaddle&th=1&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/Pelican-Kayak-Paddle-Angler-Poseidon/dp/B01N34MEOK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1503662222&sr=8-2&keywords=250+cm+paddle https://www.amazon.com/Bending-Branches-2-Piece-Snap-Button-Fishing/dp/B01MU2OZAX/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1503662222&sr=8-4&keywords=250%2Bcm%2Bpaddle&th=1&psc=1 Thanks!
  6. How difficult would you say it would be to remove with a pry bar? Wow, that's a shame about the break in and that insurance didn't back you up. Does basscat just have an alarm or come with an actual locking component as well?
  7. Correct. The biggest issue for me is when a partially clogged guide is met by the forward motion of a clump of cottonwood seed On the line that was embedded in the reel.
  8. I figure at $5 and under it's worth a try.
  9. This looks to be a descent way to keep cottonwood seed off the fishing line when there is a bad bloom. When I went on vacation this past May, I was crushing dozens of LM one day in East Harbor of Lake Erie. The following day I believe it was a cottonwood tree bloom that covered the whole lake. It prevented me from fishing the entire day. My baitcaster would backlash every cast because the micro guides were so easily clogged, and even braid with a spinning reel was troublesome. I haven't tested this, so I'm just throwing it out there, since I haven't heard of anything to combat this. If it's a gimmick I apologize. Just trying to help out. I would probably use this maybe twice per year, but maybe it at least wouldn't ruin my fishing trip. Here is the link: https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-RECMS.html?from=basres
  10. LOL. I'll keep that in mind.
  11. That's a great idea! Thank you.
  12. great commercial Wow, thanks for the info. That was exactly what I was as looking for. That sucks that you have to go through the hassle for the few dishonest people out there, but it is what it is I guess.
  13. I just got in to tournament fishing and I would be parking it overnight at some of the tournament locations. I never thought about cameras, but that's a good idea. I will keep my boat in the garage most of the time. is it worth getting/making anti-theft devices for motors and graphs? What products or DIY projects work and what don't? I'm trying to balance having piece of mind while not hassling myself to remove every piece of expensive equipment every time I leave the boat unattended.
  14. Hi all, What are some boat security features or add-on's that are a must-have to protect motor, TM, graphs, etc? I'm trying to get some ideas of how much additional money I'll need for my B.O.A.T. after I purchase next fall. Thanks!
  15. Check the knot connecting the mainline to flouro leader periodically and check About 3-4 feet of your leader often for nicks in the line. If you feel any, cut and re tie. 20 lb flouro is pretty heavy. Do a google search for Berkley vanish. Not a very good reputation.
  16. I will keep them in mind. They don't show pricing on their website, so I am thinking th saber is the most comparable to the Z18? Do you have any input on the sabre?
  17. That's a good idea. It would be nice if there was a dealer close by. I've never been in a bass cat, so that would be helpful before I decide. I'll have to make some day trips this coming year to see what I like. The closer dealer to me is in Maryland which is about 140 miles, so that's not too bad. Do you have a bass cat by chance? I don't see too many of them on lakes near me, so I don't have an solid input on them.
  18. I'll take another look. I didn't see any 16's when I looked. Thanks That's a really good point. That's the number one rule in finance, so I try to pay off in cash what I can. I feel the same way about extended warranties, unless someone is just looking for piece of mind.
  19. @12poundbass I saw the one in WV but they don't show any nitro inventory. Only aluminum boats. Ah, that makes sense. I will probably go to BPS and get a feel for exactly what I want, then take those requirements to some local places. Maybe I won't have to travel into 5 different states to get a boat after all...
  20. Yeah... There is a small tracker dealer close by, but all they have is bass buggies and smaller aluminum boats.
  21. Yeah, there are some local marinas. I'm close to three rivers, so I'm sure there is a marina out there that does some work. Not sure of all of the services they offer just yet, but I'll find out. Thanks for the help, this is all kinda new to me.
  22. And you're sure the local police aren't looking for you?
  23. Well, I'm not sure if I even have a local dealer. Closest place to me is the BPS in Harrisburg @ 160 miles away. Sounds like the boat show would be the way to go for me. This might be a stupid question, but where the heck do I take my boat for service if the closest dealer to me is 160 miles away?
  24. That's exactly the kind of deal I'm looking for. What time of year did you buy?
  25. They do have the "no haggle no hassle pricing" but I know too many dealerships that have the same policy and they all negotiate. It's hard to say whether or not it's just a ploy. It would be nice if a dealer could just tack on their margin and extend a price, but that doesn't happen too often for any type of vehicle.
