Cracked crankbait bill
That's a good point. After the damaged bill crank became the ultimate fish catcher, I would then have to buy new lures at $8.99 a piece, only to cut off a section of the square bill with diagonal pliers to get the desired action. I think if our discussion has made it to this point, I'd be better off just buying a new lure

Cracked crankbait bill
That's a good point. Although, I think this specific crank (6th sense crush 50x) has the line tie attached to the nose of the bait and not the bill. I'll use this damaged one for some small pond fishing that I know typically have smaller fish. If I go to Arthur or other lakes with a greater chance of big fish, I'll use some of my good crank baits. I seem to have an obsession with trying new colors, then when they get damaged I have to replace that exact color. I never though I would be a lure collector.

Cracked crankbait bill
Stupid question : I have my favorite square bill that I hit off a stump and a corner of the bill is cut off at a clean 45 degree angle. It still looks like it runs true, and may get hung up a little bit more than usual. Is it time to retire this bait or is it still worth throwing?

OH NO I DIDN't
I took my Dad fishing last summer on the Youghiogheny River. I loaded the canoe, rods, the electronics, the vests, the tackle, the lunch, and pretty much everything else. He needed to bring, a fishing license and the oars. Guess what he forgot..... I ended up running out to walmart and getting a spare set of oars, and he did some bird watching. We ended up catching one red horse the entire day.

Should I ask how days 1-7 went?

Abu Garcia Summer Sale
LOL, I'm on their list and like you said, most of their deals are junk anyways so I never pay attention...it's my own fault.

Remington Class Action Suit
If you don't want to send your entire rifle in, remove the accessories, scope, rings, etc. The timney drop in trigger works PHENOMENAL. It may require some filing so the trigger assembly doesn't contact any of the stock/trigger housing.

Two handguns? :-)
Glock 19 Gen4 and HK Mark 23. Glock 19 can carry comfortably with a "shorter" full length grip, mags are a dime a dozen, accessories are a dime a dozen, it doesn't fail. HK mark 23 becuase it's basically a tactical target gun. Whenever I can get away with, I want at least a 4" barrel. Sub-compacts are for t-shirt weather only. Safe-action pistols save lives.

Abu Garcia Summer Sale

Favorite Lure To Use in the Spring or Summer.
My favorite is a weightless Texas rigged senko.

Abu Garcia Summer Sale
Yeah, a lot of places have the gen 3's on sale, but I'm not sure why they didn't just keep the same sale price, unless demand was so high that they jacked up the price. Oh well...

Abu Garcia Summer Sale
Was this an error on the website that they honored? I just can't see selling a premier for 114.99. Thats a heck of a deal even for an STX. I've never used a premier, but i do have the MGX which has the centrifugal brakes like the premier... I think the only difference is the spool capacity and weight but they are pretty dang close.

Favorite Bait to Wacky Rig?
LOL You keep this picture on standby huh?

What was your worst fishing purchase decision ever?
I would agree, I never had knot strength issues with fireline crystal, although I typically don't like fishing with fused braid.

Abu Garcia Summer Sale
You got a REVO premier for $115?????? Am i missing something here? I should've read all the posts...they raised prices... I'm still considering getting a premier in 7:1 for $160...

Anyone Still Using Berkley Havoc Baits?
My issue would be : Is the power-bait scent worth doubling the price point? I'm with you though, I spend way to much on other hard baits and plastics as it is, so it's not going to affect me either way.

Hah, yeah you are definitely stocked on the backslides. I've never used the flat dogs. I've been burning through tons of senkos and I just cringe at the price every time a put another order in for them. I've heard good things about the smash tubes as well, although I've never used them.

Anyone Still Using Berkley Havoc Baits?
I'll have to give that a shot. I caught a few bass messing around at the pond with a wacky rigged centipede and t-rigged centipede. I'm excited to try it sideways, I've never thought of that. I would actually drop shot the backslide quite often and had a lot of luck with it. I'm down to about 2 dark blue, 2 pumpkin, and 2 green pumpkin...

Anyone Still Using Berkley Havoc Baits?
I use the subwoofers and the backslides. Really miss both. I've bought some zoom centipedes to replace the backslides- hopefully that fits into that same niche.

Need a new go to squarebill
6th sense crush 50x. They run true out of the box, and they are pretty durable. I haven't had to tune many after beating them into rocks and logs, so I wouldn't think you would need the circuit board lip. They have a faint rattle and a smaller frame, which for some reason, has accounted for bigger fish.

Fun day on Erie
That looks like it was a blast. Hopefully I can make it up to Erie this year, I would like to get in on the action.

Trying to fix spinning reel
I'm gonna say its your anti reverse bearing. I have the same issue with a brand new REVO STX. Abu Garcia let me keep the reel but it still back reels on occasion. Over oiling the ARB can definitely cause the back reeling also. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me chimes in. If not, I would check eBay for a replacement if quantum doesn't offer the replacement parts.

Congrats! At least you got a Primanti's sandwich. Make sure you try the corned beef next time.
