Same Fish Same Lure
I hope that's not the one that I performed "surgery" on, trying to save its eye.

Braid Or Mono For Baitcaster
I would recommend 30 lb braid. It casts really well and don't have many problems with a decent real. I prefer power pro, but that's just me.

St. Croix Mojo Bass Rod Vs. Ugly Stil & Abu Garcia
I have the mojo bass glass crankster. Its 7'4 Medium moderate action I believe. It isn't extremely sensitive. But that's ok, that's why I have a fiberglass rod. It's for cranking. I use it for swimbaits, rapalas up to DT 10, and buzzbaits. I caught a few nice bass on it this morning and that's all that matters. It feels great in my hands and IMO it's a higher end rod. I don't pay 500 dollars for fishing rods, I'm just not that way. I think its a great rod. I also use a Shimano sellus, and I think that's a great rod too. I don't know what bad you coud really say about it.

Stable Kayaks
I would recommend the predator. It's like 1300 bucks though. I want one, I tested one out.... Awesome and stable.

A Lure You Were Disappointed In After Using It
Live target field mouse. It's really cool, but the body fills up with water every 8-10 casts and you have to squeeze it. The problem is when it fills up with water and sinks while its around weeds and gets tangled up. There shouldn't be a reason to lose a top water frog/mouse unless a bass pulls it under.

Bass Hooked Through Eye
I caught a few bass this morning. My biggest one was on a buzzbait. I Hooked him through the jaw and right through the membrane beneath the eye. I couldn't bend the eye of the hook to get a better angle for hook removal, since it was still imbedded in the fishes jaw. I tried to easily unhook it and I could see a little blood filling up in the bass's eye. I switched to hemostats and tried to hold from the bend of the hook and pull with my finger and it made the fishes eye bulge out. Finally I wet a rag placed it around the fishes eye and held my two fingers on either side of the bass's eye and pulled the hook out. It didn't look as bad as I thought, but I'm pretty sure the fish is blind. Is there a better way to approach this? I'm pretty sure the bass survived, I revived him for a about a minute, he stayed shallow but was completely upright for a few minutes, eventually he swam off.

Why Top Water Lures?
Why are people so confident in top water lures? I never get much action on them. Recently I've used some 3inch rapala poppers, frogs, and a mouse from MTB. I use them with cloud coverage, early morning, late evening, and always around lily pads or thick mattes of grass. I focus on points and special areas in the grass. Any suggestions?

Keeping Native Fish As Pets?
And obviously you wouldn't want a 55 inch Muskie in your tank...
-
Keeping Native Fish As Pets?
I used to be a fish tank enthusiast so you're in luck. The best thing to remember is 3-5 gallons per 1" of saltwater fish and 1 gallon per inch of freshwater fish. So... You could keep 55 inches of fish in your 55 gallon tank. Remember this is just a guide. And do your research to see if certain fish are compatible.

Power Pro Super 8
I second this. Never seen this happen. I'm pretty sure newer rods, especially quality rods have special guides that prevent this.

Revo Mgx
I Received a Revo MGX for fathers day. A few months prior I bought a Revo SX. I have 30 lb braid on the MGX and 12 lb copolymer on my sx and use it for cranking. I can throw weightless baits on my MGX and sometimes if I use small cranks like a DT4, It is EXTREMELY hard to hone in my SX to cast it without birdsnesting. Besides the fact that one reel is better than another, what makes it that way? Is it the centrifigal brakes vs the magnetic brakes? Is it the line, rod, reel combo? Would I have had seen an improvement in casting if I would have bought the Revo STX? Thanks, Steve

Mh Gx2
Yeah, I almost hate to not use it. It was only $40-50 but still. I wish someone would just buy it off me...

Power Pro Super 8
Has anyone used the spider wire slick line? I believe its called "stealth" or something similiar. I received it in this months MTB.

What's Your Favorite/ Go To Spinning Reel?
Has anyone tried the quantum smoke reel? What size and how do you like it?

Power Pro Super 8
Do slick braids really make a difference? For how long?

Mh Gx2
I think graphite with a glass tip. Fast action, has an overly large butt section. Honestly seems too heavy in the back end and the thickness of the butt end is also a downside

Mh Gx2
7', 15-30 lb braid, its a freshwater rod but it works fine for inshore.

Good Crankbait Rod $100-$150.
I bought a 7'4" St Croix mojo bass crankster. Its a glass rod, it is just the perfect blend of sensitivity for cranking. I spooled 12 lb copolymer on it and it is my favorite cranking rod. It has so much leverage and gives such solid hook-sets. I couldn't be happier. Around the pre-spawn and spawn, I CRUSHED bass on this setup. Also I put a Revo SX on it, I would probably go with the STX if I could do it again.

Bass Lures For Trout?
Actually I lied. I caught one trolling on an XRAP. Never caught one actually working the lure though.

Bass Lures For Trout?
Never had on of a jerkbait, I'll have to add that to my to-do list.

Heavy Line On Spinning Reel
Yeah, I agree with you completely. I was in a close quarters fishing situation this weekend where there was a small cut-out in the woods. The cover that I was trying to cast to was just far enough that I couldn't pitch to. It was next to impossible with a baitcaster. Crushed perch, rockies, and trout on a light spinning setup.

Want To Get Serious. Equipment?
I would say a medium spinning rod in the 50 dollar price range, coupled with a 50 dollar spinning reel of your choice. For baitcaster, I would get a Shimano sellus rod- MH with an Abu Garcia Silver max reel. that should keep you under 250. Also, I could be wrong, but I think the only difference between the black max and the silver max is a flipping switch- which is definitely not necessary.
