  1. I do, but even with a weed guard they are easily snagged.
  2. I'm thinking of a weighted hook on a 3" stickbait, and does the weighted hook really impact the action of the lure (like when it is rigged weedless)?
  3. I like the action o the Dinger better, I seen my friend's. How much lighter is it than the Stick-o (same length)?
  4. Since I am a bank beater, and want to go light, I was wondering if I could cast the 3" Dinger weightless on a bait caster. Is the difference in weight between the Dinger and Stik-o that big?
  5. In my ultimate quest for a very reliable go to bait, I have the BPS 3" Stik-o and the Yum Dinger 3" down. I'm leaning towards the Yum Dinger, since it is very durable and thinner than the Stik-o, but I read that it is light, and lighter than the Stik-o. Are the Dingers actually light? If the Dingers are that worth it, I am planning on getting a weighted hook for them, or possibly nail weights. Would that really retard the action?
  6. Just wanted to find the best go to lure.....
  7. Which lure catches the most bass? I am just curious, and want to find a really reliable bait.
  8. Which one catches more bass?
  9. Which one catches more fish?
  10. Just curious, what lure do you guys use to catch the most bass, rather than big bass? Quantity, not quality bass.
  11. Anyone here watch Brian McPherson? His bass fishing videos mainly feature him fishing small ponds and ditches, the type of water you find in your neighborhood. That sort of stuff appeals to me, and he seems to be informative and nice. He has some nice saltwater videos. I also like Brendan's Fabulous World of Fishing, another bankbeater channel.
  12. Thanks for the replies. I saw the AG Vengeance Casting Rod for only $24 at Cabelas (Thinking of getting two, in case it break one). I heard very good things about them. Are they good as a multipurpose stick (cranks and weightless plastics)?
  13. Hey guys, I am going to be using weightless soft plastics more often (they are so effective!), and am looking for a good rod under $40 for some. I will mainly be using Zoom Horny Toads, Zoom Super Flukes, Zoom Trick Worms, and BPS Stickos. However, I use search baits a lot, and want a multipurpose rod that will do crankbaits well and still be good for fishing weightless soft plastics, on my baitcaster (Can't get a spinning combo.) As of now, I am thinking about getting the Quantum KVD Signature Series Crankbait Rod. At BPS, it's on clearance, and $40. http://www.basspro.com/Quantum-KVD-Signature-Series-Crankbait-Rod/product/10210411/#chart-container I am using a AG Black Max for this. Any other suggestions? Thanks.
  14. I picked up some Scum Frogs, from Southern Lure Co. Are they very weedless and effective? My area has small lakes full of massive and thick beds Hornwort, and some lily beds. The bottom has is full of sticks and rocks, and some plants.
  15. One of my friends gave me a Zebco ATAC Baitcasting combo. He got it from this website: http://www.tackledirect.com/zebco-tbc662mh-atac-100s-662mh-baitcast-combo.html#reviews I'm think about lending this to one of my friends that wants learn how to use a baitcaster to use. Would it frustrate him? Too many backlashes? Thanks.
  16. Hey there, What are you thoughts on the most weedless lure? Soft plastics, even when rigged weedless, seem to still get hung up in the large weed beds I fish.
  17. Do do prefer to just dead drift your trout magnet under a bobber, or do the twitch, slow retrieve one that Leland's Lures does a video on? I have found that a dead drift somehow beats a twitch-retrieve (I only really catch rainbows when I'm out fishing), but do you twitch the TM for browns or dead drift?
  18. I am going on a few days trip in Wshington County, and I am going to be fishing Beaver Creek for a while. It's Maryland's only natural limestone stream, and get's it's what from a spring of some sort, which causes the water to be 56 degrees constant. I spin fish for trout, and I will be using some Rooster Tails, charteuse and pink trout magnets, and perhaps some yellow plastic mayfly imitations (Creme Trout Bug). Some one told me it was a lures only stream, I am am ditching the Powerbait (I only use it if fishing gets really slow, for some hatchery rainbows), which probably won't do anything to catch the wild brown trout in that stream, since they are the majority. Anyone fishing this stream? Any tips on fishing it? Thanks.
  19. Well, I like the fight of a small croaker on an UL rod. My rod is durable. Would it do to target a medium striper on one?
  20. Some of the lakes here in Maryland would benefit from a purge of bluegill. As long as no laws are broekn, I'm fine.
  21. Spot and croaker are really small, and the little stripers at Sandy Point State Park are also very small. How does getting a 7 UL rod and shrimp as bait work for fishing on a jetty sound to you? I haven't got any big bites with my big rods, but again, Sandy Point is beat up water.
  22. Anyone here use any scents for panfish? Any recommendations? Panfish nibble, but when they can't taste anything, it seems they stop biting.
  23. Thanks for the input. I used nanofil and other small diameter braid in the past, but they break easily and lose $4 Panther Martins very easily on the jagged rocks I fish. Why not the 20 Lb test Spiderwire? It seems to be the same diameter as the Stren, or less. Thanks.
