  1. Yes sir, I was plan on shipping it in on Monday if I buy this unit locally. If they still have them on the weekend, I will most likely purchase it. If they run out I will order a Helix 7.
  2. My decision just got more difficult. There is a local sale for the 899 CI SI for $750. The weekend is also tax free weekend, all of the hunting/fishing/outdoor stores will be having sales. I think I might as well buy it instead of the Helix 7.
  3. That sounds wonderful. Thank you so much for the information! You probably just saved me $200
  4. Interesting. I am assuming it is not a free upgrade? Should I just order this when I purchase the Helix?
  5. I almost bought the Helix 5 last weekend. But when I went to look at it in person, it seemed small and i have poor vision. The Helix 7 appeared to be the ticket for me. All the features I want and none of the stuff I would probably use anyway. Thank you!
  6. I have been giving some serious thought to pre-ordering the Helix 7. Before I do so, is there other finders in the same price range that do side imaging that anyone would recommend? The lack of networking capabilities is not a problem as I will have just a Hummingbird 571 without GPS in the front.
  7. Took her out for the first time this morning. Drove well. I have never had an outboard before so I do not know quite what to expect. GPS had her at 35 MPH with 2 adults. Never really sure what to expect, but seems to be fast enough for what I need it for.
  8. Squarebills and t rigged worms for me.
  9. I will be upgrading to my first boat with an outboard. It is a Skeeter 1992 SS-140D with 115HP Mercury. 75lbTrolling motor. No more puddle jumping for me!
  10. I play disc golf frequently. Think throwing frisbees in the chains. There are 100's to choose from and people often get caught up buying all of these new discs. My mentality has always been, it is the archer, not the arrow. I am hoping I can use this same mentality. Then again I am only 3 months in and I am sure this monster can ****** you ip at anytime
  11. Just let sit there, maybe give a shake, but do not raise the rod tip up as you would if you were trying to hop something on the bottom.
  12. Thank you for the welcomes!
  13. This could be my problem I am a transplant and recieve a lot of flack for being a colts/buckeye fan
  14. Unfortunately I have not been to Caney yet. I hear a lot of great things about it! Up until recently I had been fishing in a '76 Terry fiberglass boat with only a trolling motor. Hopefully within the week I will be purchasing a bass boat with 115HP outboard. This should make those larger lakes now realistic for me!
  15. Hello folks, I have been reading this website for a few weeks and I figure it was past due to introduce myself. My name is Jeremy and I have only been largemouth bass fishing for a few months. I grew up smallmouth bass fishing in the streams in the Midwest. I an now located in Louisiana and fish a variety of waters. Looking forward to purchasing a bass boat this week and upgrade from my '76 trolling motor only boat!!!
