Evergreen Shower Blows Size
Nah, gettin' hard to sneak new lures past the wife as it is...if a couple show up here and there she doesn't question much but if a whole bunch show up at one time that attract's too much attention...it's better to let sleepin' dogs lie

Best big bass baits
I'd try a Keitech Swing Impact Fat swim bait size 4.8" dark color on an Owner spring lock weighted hook about a 4/0 or 5/0 size.

Evergreen Shower Blows Size
So the Evergreen Shower Blows comes in two different sizes...the Shorty 105 which is 4-1/8" and 9/16oz. or the regular 125 which is 4-7/8" and 15/16oz. Which is the better all around size for LMB?

R2S Bubble Popper and Walker
Saw that, I also saw that they make a 3/4 oz/ 3-1/2" one but can't find it for sale anywhere.

Good artificial live bait?
How about the Uncle Josh's pork products like the Canadian Crawlers and leeches etc., I saw these in Wally World the other day and wondered if anybody has had luck with them. They certainly look real and if they work could be another viable alternative to live bait.

R2S Bubble Popper and Walker
I know about the Rebel Pop R but...it just doesn't do anything for me. I realize that the fish don't care and I'm probably being foolish but that baits been around for 30 years and I'm sure it's caught boatloads of fish for people the past 30 years but...it looks 30 years old too! I mean no offense but the R2S, Megabass, Duo Realis etc. just look better, more modern and have a little more "wow" factor when you take them out of your tackle box than the Pop R does. I can get the R2S Bubble Walker/Popper on eBay for $8 so for an additional $2 it's a no-brainer for me to get the better looking bait. My main question was is there a significant difference between the Pop Max and the Bubble Walker or Popper that justify's the much higher price on the Megabass lure?

R2S Bubble Popper and Walker
Okay, I really want the Megabass Pop Max but I don't like the idea of losing a $20 bait to a toothy fishy. Are the R2S Bubble Popper or Walker suitable alternatives at half the price (I won't feel as bad losing a $8 - $10 bait as I would a $20 one)? Which one between the Popper 88 and the Walker would you pick and why?

Megabass Pop Max Colors?
If I could reel (yes, the pun IS intended...lol) this conversation back in for a minute or two to answer the above questions that would be great! Thanks guys .

Bank fishing tackle and rod question
I do that too but then a little voice always whisper's in my ear...what if you leave the 1 lure the fish are biting today home...so I just suck it up and bring the whole backpack...lol. I usually am only going to a specific spot though and won't be moving around a lot but if I were hiking up and down the backside of some pond for an extended period a 30lb. backpack would get tiresome for sure.

Bank fishing tackle and rod question
I bring everything I have...lol. Seriously, when I bank fish I usually bring about 2 spinning rods, 1 for swimbaits/crankbaits/buzzbaits and 1 for plastics/finesse presentations. I have a Bass Pro Shop Extreme Qualifier backpack and it is LOADED!!! I have 5 full Plano 3600 tackle trays stuffed in the bottom half and another 2 fulls 3600's plus a plano crankbait tray plus a small double-sided Plano tray for terminal tackle.

Megabass Pop Max Colors?
So would the 15lb Sufix Superior nylon I have on now be sufficient? Also, because fish will generally be seeing the lure from the bottom would a color like Perch or Pumpkinseed be considered the "light" lure because the bellies are mostly lighter looking? Than maybe a Black Orochi for the dark lure.
-
Megabass Pop Max Colors?
OIC...so right now I have on 15lb. Sufix Superior nylon line...I should just stick with that then?
-
Megabass Pop Max Colors?
So I obviously would want to fish with these lures...I don't want to just put them on display. My spinning reel can handle up to 65lb. braid...would that give me a better chance of keeping the lure even if something big and toothy got a hold of it?
-
Megabass Pop Max Colors?
OOOOOOhhhh...he's right...lol. Yeah, luckily most of the ponds/lakes I fish locally don't have Northern's...just bass and maybe some chain pickeral so I should be okay .
-
Megabass Pop Max Colors?
Why? Is it just because they are outrageously over-priced or are they fakes? Some seem reasonably priced at around $20 but it is sketchy when buying from international sellers.
-
Megabass Pop Max Colors?
What colors are best for the Megabass Pop Max? Right now I'm going to get just 1 but would like to at some point get a 2nd one too. I really like the Pumpkinseed color as I think that looks more like the perch in my area than the Megabass perch color. The others that look good are the Tonsoma/Mat Frog and the White Python.

Jawbone frog warning!
Once you get a casting rod like buzzed bait said I'd up the ante and get a Spro King Daddy frog (weighs a full 1 oz.) @ $11.49 through TW to catch the really big boys/girls!
-
Jawbone frog warning!
Get a spinning reel that can handle braid like a Pflueger President (size 30), spool on some 30lb braid (8lb mono equivalent so don't worry) and get yourself a Spro Bronzeye 65 Frog from TW for $8.99!!!

Live vs Artificial
I have nothing against using live bait. I know my Dad preaches the use of live bait saying it will out-catch artificial lures any day but I myself haven't proven that statement true. I suppose each have their pros/cons but I for one don't have a lot of containment space to keep live bait alive (only 1 live well on the boat and prefer to use that for the catch, not the bait) and for me carrying a tackle bag of lures is a lot more feasible. Another thing is with live bait you can't really control where they go (if you're using shiners etc.)...I mean you can target the fish all you but your live bait may have other ideas of where it wants to swim so keeping it in the strike zone is more of a challenge. I also am not a fan of dead-sticking a rod and waiting for something to bite (reason I hate the Carolina rig fishing for trout)...to me this isn't fishing, it's waiting or lazy fishing. I suppose it has it's place like if your on a picnic by the lake with the family and while you're eating you want to throw a line in and not have to worry about it unless a rod starts bending but other than that I personally much prefer to use other methods/techniques where I'm always casting and retrieving...I'm actually constantly doing SOMETHING and that to me is real fishing which is one of the reasons I much prefer bass fishing over trout fishing, it takes more skill and thought which makes catching something that much more rewarding!!!

Boat shoes
I want heel protection...especially after I just sliced mine open the other day...lol. I'm looking for the most protection that drains and dries easily.
-
Boat shoes
These look very similar to the Speedo ones i have. Decent, sure there are better available but for the price they work pretty good.

Are Walking & Popper baits Necessary?
All I can afford is a couple right now if i go with the nicer Japanese ones, something less expensive like the KVD Sexy Dawg I could get 3 of but not sure if it would be wiser just getting 2 of the nicer Duo Realis and being happy with those.

Boat shoes
I have a pair of water shoes made by Speedo that I bought at Costco for like $20. I'm sure there are better shoes out there but at that time I didn't want to pay much more than $20. I am a big fan now of water shoes as flip-flops/sandals just don't provide you with the protection that your feet need sometimes...this weekend I sliced my heel open on a rock getting the boat loaded :(. From now on you won't catch me wearin g anything but water shoes. I really like the looks of those Merrell's that A-Jay has and they make a really good shoe...the price I'm not a fan of though...lol.

Culprit Incredi Frog vs. Strike King Rage Toad
Okay, these baits look pretty similar...not sure which came out first and who tried to copy who but with the close similarities which bait actually works better?
