Closed cell foam won't take on water or "water log".

I fish power gen rivers. I have to anchor constantly so I can pick apart areas with my frogs or buzzbaits or the current would take me right off the spots that I want to cast from. I did this last season by using a dumbell tied to a rope. I won't do that for the rest of my life. Sooner or later I will spend money for convenience. I just haven't made my mind up yet. I also like to spend a minute or two picking apart fallen timber in the strong current of these gen rivers. Anchoring is needed. Shallow water anchors are no fad, they are here to stay. My dad told me one time that "no one needs a 4 door truck" when I bought one. These things are ridiculous to say. Do you remember when 4 door trucks weren't even made? I do. It's like this "if it helps, it will be successful ".

This is an anti-progress response. I'm sure you have a great deal of information and experience to share with this community but saying things like this will guarantee that your opinions are marginalized to newer members like me and many others. Occasionally someone will tease me for having power windows in my car as well, as they have hand cranks that work fine. It just paints an unnecessarily stubborn picture.

My optimax 115 pushes me 51mph. 17.5' ranger 21p laser 2 prop. I would guess you should be faster.

I would try 3m high strength double sided tape. You can get 45lb per square inch tape that will stay on virtually forever.

Hack it up and make it how you want it-if it's not to financially detrimental to do so.

All the review are outstanding. Seems my boat would ride more level and be more stable and even gain mph.The mph part I think can't be accurate. What I would love to do is ride on plane at a slower speed than I currently can right now. I don't need to get anywhere in a hurry, i don't have "spots" to go to. I need to evaluate where I am when I'm out on the boat and get around safely. I need to have a slower plane speed available to me.Suggestions? I've heard the whale tail deals will do what I want but sacrifice speed and fuel efficiency. Some 2 stroke chainsaws have catalytic converters. I guess boats don't.

I haven't gotten that impression unless you also want panoptix which is $1000-1500 in itself. The prior non chirp technology is sufficient otherwise. You really should rethink your limit, in that case.

5lb dumbell on a 50 yard line is pretty hard to beat.

Wood doesn't belong in transoms or on decks covered in carpet. Nothing ill informed about that. It's poor and shoody construction that won't last.

Boats shouldn't have wood covered in carpet, or inbetween fiberglass layers.

Trackers have wood in the floors. This qualifies as crap to me.
