  1. We did alright. Bite was slower than we wanted but we managed to get a total of about 10-15 in the boat and lost a few bites. Youre right though, Huge gators! Beautiful lake though. I always enjoy going on it!
  2. I agree one hundred. Go to is senko just because of the different ways you actually can fish it (weighted, whacky, weed less, top water, swimming, etc.) and I've had the most success with it. Frog by far is the most fun. Nothing like a top water strike!
  3. Of course man. Definitely Utilize the internet. It leads into opportunities you'll never know. A bit of advice on teams like this. If you find yourself not finding a team that will accept you, you can do two things. Either look for a club team. Its great exposure and can eventually lead into the University/college team. Second, ask them if you can tag along with them. Maybe they need an intern helping cleaning the boats or someone to organize the rods, etc. It really shows them how much you want it, you'll get exposure and practice, which could eventually lead you on the team! Good luck in college and I hope you get onto a team
  4. Nice fish. Murky Water. Good bait selection!
  5. What state you looking to go to college in? Better yet dude take a look at this website. http://www.collegiatebasschampionship.com/ Check out the standings and see what your heart desires. I would then Google the school and email the team president. Go straight to the top. IF he doesn't reply, work your way down. Definitely an awesome opportunity. I wish I did this back in college. Best of Luck to you.
  6. Id say 4 max mid 5. Its a chunk but not long enough to break 6. That's my opinion. Nice catch nonetheless!
  7. Yea the plopper alone covered the price of the box!
  8. Awesome topic. Just got one in this months box as well. When I told my brother and asked if he ever heard of it he nearly lost it. He couldn't believe it came in the box. I'm really excited to try it now!
  9. Thanks a lot @hawgenvy. I definitely will. I'll be back on this on Tuesday so if I forget just shoot me a message and I'll let you know how it goes. Otherwise I will let you know. We're only throwing artificial so I'll let you know location, conditions, and bait types! I appreciate the message!
  10. hahah good call on that. No one likes a snake bite to the leg!
  11. This is awesome! Thank you @bassinhole
  12. Hope everyone had a great weekend! Heading out to Lake Okeechobee on Friday through Sunday with my brother. Wondering how the bite has been this past week. It looks like its picking up a bit from the last month. We're getting a guide out of Roland's marina so we're in great hands, hopefully. We want to go and pond/canal hop all day Friday. Any spots you can suggest we should check out, kind of close by? Thanks guys!
  13. @bassinhole great read! You ever see a big bass on a bed?! HAHAHAH
  14. Heading out on Lake Tarpon tomorrow with @Chris Spear and @bassinhole. Looking at pre-frontal conditions. Overcast most of the day,5% chance of rain. 5-11mph winds throughout the day, temps at a low of 66 and a high of 83. Should be a good day. Hope all yall get out there and have success! I hope we do too! Tight lines boys!

Welcome! There's some great stuff on here. Best of luck. -Eric
  16. Unreal @Joey Bass. what a first catch. Hope the rest of the season is amazing
  17. Ill be heading to Lake O on the 19 and 20. Hopefully with the warming air temps, and I mean warming (constant mid to high 80's) until the trip, hopefully the water will see some drastic changes and the fish will become more active. We can only hope! Have a good trip when you go @hawgenvy. Best of luck to you!
  18. With the air temps starting to warm up here in Pinellas county,FL, fish should hopefully be more active. First time out with @primetime later this evening. Like said in past topics, meet new good people who know more than you, get on the water, and learn. Just one of the many ways to better yourself. Hopefully we get some luck later today. Tight lines!
  19. Welcome buddy. There is great information circulating these forums. Do the research and you'll better yourself. Best of luck to you and tight lines! -Eric
  20. I disagree with this one hundred percent, no offense. I had no experience with a baitcaster at all before I bought the black max reel for $40. Sure, I had a rough time with it the first few outings but if you practice you will get better. eventually it will become second nature. There are a lot of youtube tutorials on how to get better with a baitcaster, baitcasting for beginners, etc. Another reason I disagree with this is both of my brothers got $300 baitcasters as their first reel and had the same problems I had. Eventually we all got the hang of it. If you have the money, by all means get the best product out there, it might take you less practice before getting it. But If youre in the same boat as me, the "cheaper" reels are fine. Just put in the hours to learn it. It is worth it in the end. Good luck!
  21. Enjoy the forums. Theres some great stuff circulating around here.
  22. Heading out on Lake Tarpon this Saturday with two of my buddies. Anyone been out there in the past week or so? Any spots we should check out? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  23. Fishing has been tough of late. Been going to a few of the lakes around the area, and like expected, they have been tough fishing. Conditions have been weird, bass are hunkered down. Decided to give some local ponds a try and same situation. Pretty tough fishing. Managed to hook up with a nice 4lber and then 2 minutes later my buddy hooked up with another 4lber. Other than that, a few dinks. Heading to Okeechobee in 2 weeks. I'm hoping this warm weather they're supposed to have, sticks and warms up the water a bunch. Should make the fishing heat up as well. Hope all ya'll had a good weekend and did better than we did. Out again this weekend! Tight lines boys
  24. Is there an actual thermometer that you can easily put on and remove to fishing line to check the temp of the water or is it just your basic pool thermometer?
  25. hahaha @Steveo-1969 that's exactly how I felt Awesome feedback. Thank you all. I'm going to stick with the LH Reels.
