  1. Yeah, pretty soft for a Heavy. Feels like a MH with mod-fast taper. I really like the rod, just probably for most reaction baits.
  2. Thanks kickerfish1, that's what I was wondering about!
  3. Picked up this rod on sale for $199. It's rated up to 2oz, but it def doesn't feel like a heavy. It seems to have a lot of flex which I guess is bc it's a swimbait rod. I was hoping I could use it for other techniques. Does ANYBODY have any experience with this rod??? I put my Met mgl hg on it, but I don't know if that's what that rod needs.
  4. I threw my chatterbait from the bank this weekend with my Curado I 6.3:1 and it worked great. It's a smooth reel & doesn't break the wallet.
  5. Thank you guys for the feedback! I really appreciate it. I went with the Metanium. I put them both on a Loomis glx & the Met just felt better in my hands. Since it had most of the newer technology, I bought that one.
  6. Yeah I have a couple of E series & I like the VBS. The guy at the counter told me there has been issues with the 13 Met & that's why they came out with the new Met so quickly. I don't know if that's true or not. On the other hand, the Core is a proven reel. $300 is a lot for me & I just want to get the better option. I just need to decide I guess. Thanks for the feed back Kickerfish1!
  7. I love dragging worms, lizards, jigs etc... Both reels are NIB & both are listed $299. I need some quick input. Are these reels equal in performance or is it just a personal preference? Which would you choose???
  8. A little back play is normal, especially when the drag is backed way off. Try tightening your drag, it will / should go away.
  9. Thanks!
  10. Hi, I'm brand new to joining / reading forums & I thought this one looked like a great place to stay in the loop & maybe learn a few things!! My name is Jason, 35 yrs I'm just outside of Birmingham. I love to hunt & fish. My favorite places to fish are the lakes along the Coosa River & the Alabama River. Our spotted bass down here are awesome! I'm hoping to buy a new boat this year & maybe start some tournaments next year.... Anyways, I'm looking forward to the cooler Fall temps, getting on the water & watching some college football. Roll Tide guys!!!!!
