Most fish ever caught in a season ?
Spring time is a great time for someone to catch +100 bass in a day when the water level is low. I also caught more or less the same amount of sunfish, Oscar, bowfin, and gar the day I caught 149 bass so there was a good chance I caught over 300 fish in less than 6 hours of fishing that day. Did not count those extra fish and only wrote down the bass on a piece of paper. Bass still bite very good during the summer time, you just have to find where they are hiding in and fish at night on very hot days.I don't blame the northerners and westerners for visiting South Florida since we have the best overall fishing opportunities in the USA.

Boated vs non boated
Any decent basser has the ability to catch quality bass on a consistent basis either on a boat or land. Having a boat is no guarantee of success and I know several boaters with PB's under 10 and non boaters with PB's over 10.

What is your favorite and or most succesful Lure?
Topwater

Senko Carp
Not often since carp rarely strike a senko. Most people fish with bread balls, corn, or ficus berries when they are targeting carp.

Jacksonville, Fl Small Lakes
I read about those 2 bass and others over 10 pounds caught in some of the small waters in northeast Florida. Seems like a great place to catch a 10 pound bass and its no surprise why so many people from northeast Florida have +10 pound bass PB's.

Do you find that this sport is made difficult and expensive for no reason?
Bass fishing can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be and its up to the fisherman/fisherwoman to decide how much to invest in bass fishing. You can catch big bass on a yo yo reel, cane pole, or on a expensive combo if you want. You can catch big bass on live bait you catch yourself or catch bass on expensive hand made lures. You can catch big bass from land in public waters or catch big bass on a boat in private waters. Maybe this is why bass fishing is so popular in the USA and even other countries since there are so many ways to catch a bass that you can spend your whole life bass fishing and never be able to fish with every technique or fish every location that bass live in.

It's so hot...........
It's so hot right now in South Florida that I am barely seeing anyone on the water and I don't blame them. It's +90 degrees and +80% humidity on most days for the past couple weeks and that intense sunlight is not good for anyone's skin.Good thing I enjoy diving and night fishing!

Saltwater....
I have caught some big snook, redfish, tarpon, jack crevalle, other types of saltwater fish on "freshwater tackle". Make sure to rinse off the tackle after the fishing trip and do further maintenance if needed.

Best lures to use to catch gar
I have a spot that's loaded with huge longnose gar that rarely bite and might consider using this technique. I usually use poppers, jerkbaits, crankbaits, swimbaits, and other bass lures to catch gar.

River Fishing for Bass/Night Fishing
Some good lures to use in rivers at night time are paddletail swimbaits, spinnerbaits, poppers, and buzzbaits.

How do I get fatter bass?
Make sure the bass are well fed and there's not too many bass in the pond.

Senko Carp
Nice carp, did you catch it bowfishing? Always wanted to try bowfishing since it similar to spearfishing which is my favorite form of fishing.

Is it a Spot or Hybrid?
Looks like a largemouth bass and not a spotted bass but it might be hybrid. Next time check for a tooth patch on the tongue. Contact your states fisheries biologist and they will be able to help you more.

Senko Carp
I agree with you that this grass carp appears to be well over 50 pounds just like his scale said. Last year I caught a big grass carp that was over 40 inches and it looks small compared to one the OP posted. This is a internet forum and internet fishermen seem to give low estimates on fish weight (even if someone post a picture of a fish that has already been weighed).

What makes your favorite type of fishing your favorite?
My favorite way to catch a bass is on a topwater lure but will use whatever technique is necessary to catch the bass I am targeting. You will have a blast fishing in South Florida since many bodies of water here are very clear, both freshwater and saltwater.

Lily pad question?
Most lily pads I see in South Florida grow in less than 6 feet of water but have seen them in +8 feet. Have caught bass near the bottom of these lily pads, near the surface, and near the border of a large group of lily pads.

Are any of these spotted bass?
Lake Murray, Lake Hartwell and many other bodies of water in South Carolina has spotted bass. I caught some Bartram's bass x Alabama spotted bass hybrids in South Carolina waters that are supposed to be free of Alabama spotted bass. These Alabama spotted bass hybridize with Bartram's bass and are a threat to this rare species of bass.Fortunately I caught a pure stain Bartram's bass since that was the bass I was targeting.

My heart is broken
This year's red tide is still affecting the West Coast and one of the worst red tides in many years; https://www.wfla.com/news/sarasota-county/red-tide-persists-along-sarasota-county-coast/1288381058 Quotes from the article; "Although red tides have been documented in this area since the 1800s, many researchers say the events are more intense and longer-lasting these days because of human activities like farming and fertilizing lawns. Fanara said it's the longest-lived bloom that she knows of in more than a decade, since the mid-2000s saw an 18-month long bloom" "Fanara said cell counts were as high as 24 million cells per liter at some Sarasota beaches.Respiratory issues and fish kills can start once levels reach 10,000 cells per liter, according to the FWC."
