  1. Congratulations on your new PB!
  2. There have been several big bass that have been caught ice fishing. The current state record for Massachusetts(15 pounds,8 ounces) was caught ice fishing and that record still stands after 40 years.
  3. Thank you for posting the story of how you caught your biggest bass.Public parks often have big bass in them, but these bass are usually difficult to catch because of the fishing pressure.I would keep fishing that park since there could be bigger bass in there.
  4. Nice bass.Senkos are definitely one of the best lures for bass fishing in Florida.
  5. Zoom horny toads and spinnerbaits are good lures to use when fishing for snakeheads. There are days I catch +10 snakeheads in a few hours,so they aren't difficult to catch.
  6. Never had a kidney stone, but I make sure to drink plenty of water when I am fishing and working out. Make sure to not drink an excessive amount of water since there is a possibility of developing a condition called hyponatremia (can happen to people who over hydrate, such as marathon runners, people doing outdoor activities in the heat, etc ).

    Nice looking crankbaits
  8. Find a location with plenty of baitfish and the bass will be close.
  9. The best custom is the one you built yourself.
  10. Yes he's a very good fisherman and River Monsters is one of the few fishing shows I watch. He probably still fishes with those old rods since it brings him lots of good memories.
  11. Bass are extremely fun to catch, but so is fishing for other gamefish. The current Ohio record Muskie is well over 50 pounds, with lots of reports of people catching quality sized Muskie. There's also lots of quality sized Striped Bass in Ohio(another hard fighting gamefish).
  12. Doubt he's going to post his new lure invention without getting a patent first.
  13. Congratulations to Mr.Renolds! He must be very happy catching that 19 pound bass.
  14. I agree with the line in the water part, but you can definitely hook a fish while your sleeping.Have fallen asleep while fishing at night in saltwater and what woke me up was the sound of the drag screaming as line is being pulled by the fish. That sound wakes me up better than any alarm clock!
  15. That might work, but it won't work all the time. The guy could of taken a picture of him holding a 9-10 pound bass that his friend caught next to him.Lots of people pose with other people's catches, it's very sad but some people will do anything for attention.
  16. Best times for fishing is whenever you have available.Early in the morning, late in the day,and overcast weather are good times to fish as well. So true. Putting in your time wisely is the best teacher and nothing can replace that.I know many bass fishermen that are always complaining how bad the bass fishing is in Florida, yet I always find a way to catch lots of quality sized bass, even on days many would stay home.
  17. So far this season has offered me great bass fishing and it's going to get better the next couple months.
  18. Older country music is good music to listen to when you are fishing.
  19. A 8 pound largemouth bass is a big bass anywhere in the world. ^ This is the best answer given
  20. We will, all we have to do is go on vacation.I been wanting to go Ice fishing since I was a child.Might make another trip up north during the next winter for some ice fishing.Let me know in advance when you go to South Florida and I will give you locations for both freshwater/saltwater fishing.
  21. Nice catches. Ice fishing is on my bucket list of things to do.
  22. Bass are interesting animals which sometimes are unpredictable, even for experienced bass fishermen. I have caught them in ultra clear water with heavy green braid with no leader and other times I couldn't get a bite unless I used light monofilament line (in the same body of water).Only experience will truly teach you what line works best in your body of water.
  23. Look for areas with plenty of baitfish. Bass will always be close to their prey.
  24. Everyone has their own style of bass fishing, so you are going to get lots of answers. So far these setups have served me well for bass and inshore fish. 1. 6-7 foot heavy action for swimbaits, frogging, etc 2. 6-7 foot heavy action for big topwaters, big plugs, etc 3. 6-7 foot medium heavy action for small/medium topwaters, finesse baits, most bass lures, etc Here's a video that will make you laugh; "Fishing rod challenge! Can I break an Ugly Stik GX2?!" by YouTuber named "Catfish and Carp".
  25. Maybe the OP means Striped Bass?
