Grip/scale
I use almost the exact same setup as A-Jay. Fish Grip Jr. coupled with a $6 fish/luggage scale from Amazon. Works beautifully every time, and I really love the Fish Grip Jr.- a solid grip without damaging the fish's jaw.

Fall/winters Project. It's Time To Clean Up My Tackle Room.
I'll get in line after buzzed bait for your excess tackle, bigbill.

Leader Question
I'll use a leader on my MH rod with 65 lb braid (usually use 10lb fluorocarbon for the leader) if I'm fishing in clear water or not heavy cover. Same for drop shot with the spinning rig that has 15 lb braid.

Mr Double Digit. 30 Plus 10 Lbs Large Mouth
Amazing fish. You're clearly onto something!

Fall/winters Project. It's Time To Clean Up My Tackle Room.
I have just crossed the threshhold of owning more tackle than I can comfortably carry while fishing. Now I need to figure out some form of storage for stuff I leave behind and a good system to pick out what I need for the trip.

Decision...finally!!!
I started right out with braid and don't regret it. It is easier to pick out backlashes and I find it doesn't backlash nearly as much line when it does. With braid backlashes are a few yards, with mono or copolymer it seems like half the spool every time.

Go Team Lews! Great choice. That's an outrageous price for a fantastic reel.

Keep A Maintenance Log Book On Your Reels?
No but I maybe should. I'd like to perform routine (yearly) basic cleaning and oiling on my reels. I only have 6 setups, covering everything from UL spinning to fly fishing to bass fishing to surf fishing.

Tw Sale
Do any Tackle Warehouse veterens around know when their next sale is likely to take place? I assume they're on a roughly regular schedule, and I have a number of items to order.

Tatula Grooving
On the reel? Don't you mean the rod guides?

A bag of Z-Man lizards. Not much but $3 at Walmart so I said why not. Zoom isn't even usually that cheap.

P-Line Cxx Extra Strong Copolymer - For Topwater ?
I've been using it for any treble hooked lure, topwater and cranks. Seems to work fine so far.

And boy am I! Paired it up and made a few practise casts this evening. Amazing combo. I think if I'd known the Tournament MB would be so much smoother I wouldn't have gone with the Speed Spool for my first combo.

Lews Tourney Mb Or Lews Lfs
I have and use an LFS, and I just bought an MB recently. I paid $111 for the MB on ebay; seems to be the best place to get them. Time will tell I guess but it seems like a super nice reel.

Rod In The 100 To 150 Dollar Range.
I have one *** Black 1st gen, MH Fast and I really like it. I have a 2nd gen *** waiting for me at home today (I hope) That I can't wait to try out either! The Tatulas look nice, but I am a cork handle guy.

Buzzbaits
I have to say I like the Booyah buzzbait fairly well too. I've found white outfishes black for me, pretty much all the time.

Braid And Flouro
I really like P-Line braid myself.

Spooled up the Lews Tournament MB and am eagerly awaiting the *** Black Medium cranking rod! Been throwing a lot of treble lures recently so I can't wait to try it out with proper tackle.

Go To Brands For Plastics
Zoom or Berkley Powerbait are my two first picks, but I'm not terribly partial.

Getting A Crank Bait
I really like Strike King 1.5 and 2.5 HC Silent Square Bill baits. They're very well built. I also found a bunch of Norman square bills at BPS for $2 each that seem pretty nice.
