  1. I wanted to get a Procyon but had trouble finding them, when I was looking for an ultralight rig. EDIT: oops, meant the Presso model. But I too have heard good things about the Procyon.
  2. Didn't realize you meant both. In that case you can't go wrong with a Pflueger President reel and No. 8 Tackle Company b lackout. That would be a killer budget combo. The reel should be $40-50 and the rod $60 or so.
  3. I'm interested in this question too, I've never had a ton of success with lipless cranks but I'd like to learn to fish them better.
  4. I like St Croix rods, but my favorite are rods by a company that the owner of this site hates, so I'm not allowed to tell you the brand... Yes, seriously. TBH about any rod in the $100 range will be great.
  5. Just because of how the 3601 boxes are laid out I've had to have a couple boxes with no dividers (only the 3 long-ways ones that are molded in), but I've never stacked baits several deep. My squarebill box has no dividers between the baits but at least there are no baits under baits, lol.
  6. The reason it's never ruined or broken may be because they don't expect much out of the gear in the first place. I'd notice immediately if I had a guide insert pop out or my reel was grinding, but careless folks probably won't.
  7. Yeah, I've just trained myself to use RH bait casters, since they're the most commonly available.
  8. I have the Speed Spool LFS and the Tournament MB. The LFS is fantastic, but the MB is a huge improvement. In taking them apart and cleaning them recently I was able to notice some differences in the innards, such as multiple stacked drag washers in the MB. I would definitely recommend it.
  9. Terrific! Maintain that friendship.
  10. What's the story on the giant bag of miscellaneous plastics? Looks like a haul!
  11. I plan to try them myself some time. EDIT: Changed my post, not that my opinion has changed, but I don't want to derail the OP's thread.
  12. I trout fished a little bit when I lived in NJ. I currently have only an 8 weight rod and a bunch of bass bugs and flies, but it's lots of fun!
  13. Love egg nog (non alcoholic) myself. Looks good!
  14. Ah sure! I'm not criticizing anyone's choice. Just expressing my opinion. When it really gets to me is when that stuff costs big $. For that price it makes sense. No mocking here! And no, I don't wear anything that's heavily branded. Just a personal choice. Lol, good point!
  15. I have never been able to bring myself to PAY for the opportunity to give a company free advertising space on my body.
  16. I've figured out a system that works well so far. I use Plano 3600 size boxes, I have a ton of the 3601 because they're slim and I can fit more boxes in a bag (and therefore keep everything better organized). I have a BPS backpack that holds around 16 boxes, fewer if I'm carrying a bunch of gallon bags of plastics. I also have a Plano bag that holds about 6. I have all my boxes on a wooden shelf. When I go out, I grab the boxes I think I'll need and put them in one of the two bags, depending how many I think I'll need that day. That way i don't ever have to carry everything, and depending on the outing I don't need a big floppy half empty bag.
  17. I love my Lew's reels, and I only have the lower tier models (Speed Spool and Tournament MB).

Here's a little known (IMO) fact: Monoprice makes the best sounding earbuds for under $50 that I've ever used. And they cost about $7. Absurdly cheap, absurdly good sound quality.
  19. "Another reel" lol. Groan. Lol.
  20. How do they compare to Lucky Craft (quality-wise)? Same same?
  21. Berkely 6" Power worm in purple flake. I love those worms.
  22. I just wipe the blanks down with a damp cloth. Will probably use a magic eraser lightly on the cork where it's gotten dirty.
  23. Co-polymer for me so far. P-Line CXX and P-Line Fluoroclear.
