So it would seem, but at my DSG they balked saying the items with .97 ending weren't "in the sale section", even though they were on sale. I probably still should have punished them for that. And gotten the bag of soft plastics they accidentally labeled "$0.01".

I've been searching around for a deal on a Shimano Stradic FK or Stradic ci4+ for a while, for my new ML spinning rig. I found one seller on eBay selling brand new CI4+'s for $187 shipped. That seemed pretty low compared to anywhere else I've seen it. The best price I've found for a Stradic FK is $171 shipped. Is the ci4+ a super good deal I should jump on right away, or are they fairly commonly available at that price point? I ask because I really should wait till next month, technically, before making any larger purchases, but can justify it if it's a rare bargain.

It's great that he's interested in guns, and even better that he's being taught how serious guns are, that they aren't toys, and that you ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS treat it like it's loaded. Knowledge is far better than ignorance when it come to firearms.

I have this book as well. Not a bad book for browsing on a bored winter evening.

It was probably about the 3rd cast with my brand new Lucky Craft Pointer, most expensive lure I'd bought to date, and it broke off in some brush. Made me pretty discouraged.

I like rod glove brand rod socks and the TW brand reel covers seem to be working fine. I plan to upgrade my kayak to a jon sometime this year too. I'm thinking about building some kind of rack that would keep the rods up off the deck? Anyone use anything like that?

I have a Deeper and I really like it. The connection has almost always worked flawlessly. I had the fish hound version and it never worked for me- sent it back and got a Deeper.

Or you can buy them brand new on ebay for $110 or so, free shipping. That's where I got both of mine. Unless some tackle store is running a serious special eBay is almost always the cheapest for new reels I've found.

I have 2 Tournament MBs and they are super good reels. The feel is just superb, solid quality. And they cast really smooth as well. I was really impressed with my cheaper Speed Spool but after using the MB it's clear that the MB is a clear step above, as good as the speed spool is.

I bought a ML Max 3D spinning rod. Haven't used it yet but the fit and finish is nice. You just missed Tackle Warehouse's great sale on them, but I'm sure you can find a good deal on "another site".

I use all Plano boxes, 3600 size, except for my soft plastics. I keep them in the original bags and all in a long, deep Flambeau 4510 box, like a filing cabinet. It works super well. Other than that it's the extra thin, Plano 3601 boxes for me.

Funny, I had one of those $15 Shimanos and it was the worst reel I'd ever used. And I was used to $10-$30 gear back then too. Really put me off of Shimano as a whole. I would second (or third or fourth) the President recommendation. Super reel for the money, and it's been that way for years.

Yeah me too. Best I can get is "buy 2, get one free" on a tiny selection of trashy baits no one wants. @everythingthatswims that's just unreal!

We just had several threads on this; you'll find useful info if you search the forums for those.

Immediately stop what you're doing when you get angry, and do something else. If you're golfing, stop and goof on your phone, read the news, play a game, whatever. If you're fishing, stop and put tackle away or take a walk. Gaming, go check your email or something. Just do something totally different to take your focus off what made you mad, and give yourself a moment to calm down. Also remember that these things that get you so angry are recreational/entertainment. You're doing them for FUN.
