Right there with you. I walk past a free gym every day leaving work, no excuse for the weight I've put on. Got back down to what I weighed in highschool last winter before I let myself go again, have to get back at it. If for no other reason, I want to be a good example for my son and be in good enough shape to enjoy as much time as possible with him.

Changed my routine up a bit since my knee issues which started in October. I'm doing more circuit training with the weights and have  had to cut back on cardio until something gets resolved. The nice thing about circuit training is that it will leave you gassed when your done. I'm at it for 5 days a week and now that the holidays are over I'm getting back to good eating habits.

Pump up those muscles, Kevin.

And post pics of the new Mr. America!

P.S.  Remember, you are only as good as your legs so one day its upper body and the next workout it is lower body.

dont forget to include core strength training (low back/abs) into your routine. a strong core will better support your spine. alot of people hate it but it aint so bad once you get used to it. stay committed!

A very heavy friend of mine who has dedicated himself to getting into better shape posted a bit of inspiration on his Facebook a couple days ago that I really liked.

"No matter how slow you go, you're still lapping everyone sitting on the couch".

It's a very true statement. I can say from experience that you don't have to kill yourself to get in pretty good shape, especially at your young age. 10-20 minutes of exercise 4-5 days a week can make a very drastic and noticeable difference when done correctly.

I would say a little bit of exercise will put you in decent shape. I think a lot of us overestimate how good of shape we are in. I workout 6 days a week for a total of 24 hours a week and am still not as fit as I think I am

I go three days a week, chest and biceps the first two days, and legs the last day!

You work out 4 hours a day?

What on earth are you doing that would take that much time? lol

Competitive Swimming. During Breaks (like the last two weeks, I workout 6 days a week for 5 and a half hours a day). 3/4 of it in the pool, the other 1/4 in the weight room

I like it....not a gym person but am blessed to live on one acre and enjoy spending an hour or two cutting wood...cleaning brush...or just keeping the body moving while getting fresh air.  If not in the mood for work will do some stretches and a walk.  Has made a huge difference in life...especially at 65 and a couple past ruff years.  Love the couch statement....love it.  Thank you

How many calories do you eat a day?

Hopefully A LOT lol

4,200 minimum. That's my maintenance calories. When I'm trying to gain weight it's closer to 5,000.

I went running/workout out with a group of fitness guys this morning. Basically we'd sprint for three or four minutes, then drop and do planks, pushups, situps, or crunches, then we'd go sprint around a different building, drop and do more excercises, and repeat. We did it for a whole hour and it was torture! In a good way though :D

I started seriously lifting about 2.5 years ago and absolutely fell in love with it. It is amazing how much I learned about how the body works (hormones during and post workout etc…) and chemistry. The muscles are just a bonus:D

This guy doesn't need a boat, he could probably just tread water all day. :)

Uhem, but doing that just one time in your life will get you nowhere at all, after you workout for a while, its not torture anymore, its "feels good" pain :D

I work out and run every day, that's just a monday morning thing. And the whole point (at least my goal) is to moderately torture myself. The sorer the muscles, the better :D.
